This was a really fun tour, with five other guys and our guide, Lifred. I had just arrived in Bogota, two days earlier, and on my first outing to La Candelaria, the day before, I'd lost my camera to a pickpocket, which unnerved me, a bit. I thought a tour would be a wise move, to hear from a local about the pros and cons of walking around Bogota, places to avoid, learn about the scams, etc. Lifred, our guide, was very knowledgeable. We convened at a bar, the morning of the tour, checked everyone in, and then hiked to the base of Montserrate, and took the "funicular" to the summit, where we got good pictures of Bogota and the surrounding mountains. We then took the tram/gondola back down, and got lunch, went to museums, had a fruit tasting/seminar, saw Bolivar square, had a coffee making/tasting demonstration, and wound up the day at another bar, for chocolate with cheese, and a game of "Tejo," a national game involving trying to hit triangles filled with an explosive powder to make them pop. It was a good day, and nice having a group of guys around, after having my camera stolen as a solo traveller, the day before. Lifred shared a lot of knowledge about the food, history, politics, and customs of Bogota, as well as some helpful safety tips. In fact, I'd have hired his company for a tour to a coffee plantation, the following week, but the last tour of that type for the time being fell on a day in which I was scheduled to move from one hotel to another, across town. An incredible experience, beautiful places (Monserrate, the Gold Museum, the Botero Museum, La Candelaria, Plaza Bolívar, etc.). The guide, Catalina, was very kind and professional, making the tour a great experience. Highly recommended.

We have been in Colombia for 5 weeks and had 1/2 a day in Bogota. we chose the Walking Tour so that we could see as much as possible in an efficient manner! Liz was an Exceptional tour Guide. Her knowledge about the city, architecture, history, Food, Culture, Coffee…was Extensive! We covered a lot of ground in 3 hours. Our only regret is that we are not staying longer to enjoy this beautiful and historic city. We highly recommend the tour! If you have Liz as your guide…you will be guaranteed a great tour!

Because we were flying to Armenia (Coffee region) in the afternoon, we booked a half-day Bogota tour with Impulse Travel, and were fortunate to be assigned to Gigio as our guide. At 8:30 am, he was waiting for us with a driver in a very comfortable van outside the Marriott. Upon pick up, we hit the ground running and have nothing but great things to say about Gigio and this tour. His English was wonderful and he was so informative! He was strategic about the order of our visits to ensure we got the most out of every minute, especially given the Easter holiday. He introduced us to Bogota and walked us through the Calendaria area. He treated us to different fruits and chocolate at the market. We enjoyed coffee in the middle of the tour while we listened to a street performer. Gigio’s energy and love for his country was contagious, and we wish we could have taken him with us throughout the rest of our trip!! He gets our highest recommendation!


