Mount Emei is one of the four famous mountains of Chinese Buddhism, and it is also the temple of Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. There are numerous Buddhist monasteries in the mountains that combine to give this place a holy and serene atmosphere. The scenery in the mountains are beautiful. The four seasons each have their own characteristics. If you are lucky, you can see the sunrise and sea of clouds. Do note that the monkeys in Mount Emei are notoriously naughty. They are not afraid of people, and even take the initiative to ask tourists for food.Emeishan City · 13.8km from downtown

Leidong Plateau, with an altitude of over 2,400 meters, is the terminus of the sightseeing shuttle bus in the Emei Mountain Scenic Area. The bus operates between the Baoguo Temple Passenger Transport Centre at the foot of the mountain to the peak. Visitors must pass through Leidong Plateau on their way to Jinding Summit. Zero Kilometer is located on the mountainside of Mount Emei, with an altitude of more than 1,300 meters. The climate is warm but not hot, making it a good place to escape the heat in summer and watch snow in winter. The place is surrounded by clouds and mist, and there are many special farmhouses, just like the residence of immortals. All the way through the clouds and mist, through the flowers and willows, the quaint houses come into view, the wooden houses, the spotless courtyards, the scenery of small bridges and flowing water, the conference rooms, guest rooms and bars that combine the quaint and modern, make people feel like they are in a paradise. Leshan Giant Buddha

The Leshan Giant Buddha, also known as the Lingyun Giant Buddha, is situated on the cliff of Qiluan Peak on Lingyun Mountain at the confluence of the Min River, Qingyi River, and Dadu River in Leshan, Sichuan. It is a colossal seated stone statue of Maitreya carved during the Tang Dynasty, standing approx. 70 m tall, with a single instep spacious enough to accommodate over a hundred people. Legend has it that the turbulent waters at the confluence once frequently capsized passing boats. To calm the currents, the monk Haitong of Lingyun Temple initiated the carving of the Buddha. Over several generations, craftsmen continued the construction, which took approx. ninety years to complete. On the cliff to the right of the Buddha, an inscription from the Tang Dynasty titled "Jiazhou Lingyun Temple Great Maitreya Stone Statue" remains to this day, revealing its original name—the Great Maitreya Stone Statue of Jiazhou Lingyun Temple. The common route to visit the giant Buddha is to first arrive at Lingyun Temple beside the Buddha's head, then descend along the winding Jiuzhaigou plank road built against the cliff. View the Buddha's spiral hair buns and robe folds up close, and reach the platform at the Buddha's feet to look up at the full figure. Only then can one truly appreciate the grandeur of "a mountain being a Buddha, and a Buddha being a mountain." Lingyun Temple has continuous incense offerings, and many travelers also join their palms here to pray for blessings. For a different perspective, take a boat cruise or view from the riverside of Leshan ancient city: the continuous mountain outlines of Wuyou Mountain, Lingyun Mountain, and Guicheng Mountain resemble a giant reclining Buddha facing upward, with the grand Buddha seated precisely at its chest—creating the marvel of "Buddha within Buddha." The river view also captures the grand Buddha's full profile alongside the scenery of three rivers, making it especially effortless for travelers with limited stamina or those seeking panoramic shots.Leshan · 28.6km from Emeishan City

Great! Fun and delicious food! Long live Mount Emei! The cable car staff were attentive and helpful. The mountain was completely shrouded in fog, making it impossible to see the sunrise. It was quite nice though, as the sun didn't come out until noon. I saw the sun and each individual sun.

Baoguo Temple - where it all begins and endsYou know, there's a special magic to traveling returning to where you started and realizing you're a completely different person. That Mount Emei, which seemed like a pretty picture on the first day, has now become a part of you. That your knees remember every stone, and your lungs remember every breath of air at an altitude of three thousand meters. Baoguo Temple awaited us below. And it was the perfect end point.Baoguo, also known as the "Temple of Gratitude to the Motherland," stands at the very beginning of the trail, at the foot of the mountain. On the first day, we were in such a hurry to get going that we left it for last, like a delicious dessert saved for last. And we did the right thing. The temple is about 450 years old. It was founded during the Ming Dynasty, in the 16th century, and since then it has faithfully fulfilled its purpose: meeting pilgrims, seeing them off to the top, and welcoming them back when they descend, tired and happy. Can you imagine how many stories it has witnessed? How many knees, like mine, have trembled before its gates? In the Hall of the Seven Buddhas, I encountered the purple bronze Huayan Pagoda. The same one, with 14 stories and 4,700 small Buddhas on its body. But the temple's crowning glory is, without a doubt, the bell. A huge bronze bell, weighing over 10 tons. Locals call it the "Bashu Bell King" (named after the ancient kingdom of Sichuan). Transportation: Take bus #5 in Emeishan; it goes directly to the temple. The price is only 1.5 yuan. It's almost ridiculous: 1.5 yuan for a ticket to a place that will nourish your memories for years. Buses run every 10 minutes, so you won't have to wait even during rush hour. You can, of course, take Didi—it's about 20 yuan and takes 25 minutes. But if you're not as exhausted as we were from descending the mountain, the bus is a more authentic option. You'll get locals to join you, you'll enjoy the scenery outside the window.

A light drizzle shrouded Mount Emei, with white mist drifting through the mountains, creating a scene of ethereal beauty. Ancient trees and babbling brooks added to the serene tranquility amidst the rain. Winding stone steps disappeared into the sea of clouds, and the distant sound of temple bells echoed softly in the mist. Though the grandeur of a clear sky was absent, the misty, Zen-like atmosphere offered a unique and serene charm to Mount Emei.

Mount Emei is very large, with a relative altitude of 2500 meters. Reaching the Golden Summit in one day requires both shuttle bus and cable car. During peak tourist season, long queues for buses and cable cars are common, so be sure to leave early in the morning to be among the first to arrive. Besides the Golden Summit, you can also visit Qingyin Pavilion to see monkeys, Baoguo Temple to burn incense and pray, and Emei Lake for panoramic mountain views. These attractions are all accessible by car, making them relatively easy to reach and suitable for family trips.

We hired a car from the hotel to the zero-kilometer parking lot, which took about 50 minutes. From there, we transferred to a scenic area bus, which took about 50 minutes to reach the cable car station at the Golden Summit. The bus shook quite a bit, which could easily cause motion sickness.

Friends, I have to recommend this hot spring! The environment is fantastic, the hot spring pools are clean and plentiful, and there are different therapeutic options to choose from. The water temperature is just right, soaking in it is incredibly comfortable, and fatigue instantly disappears. The service is also very attentive, and the staff are warm and friendly. Snacks and drinks are constantly available, and the quality is good. It's excellent value for money, I'll definitely come back next time!

Driving from the foot of the mountain to zero kilometer, the scenery along the way is pleasant, with streams, waterfalls and mountain views. There is a section of the road that is comparable to the beauty of Zhangjiajie Jinbian Creek. I didn’t stop to stroll because I was in a hurry. I opened the window to feel the good air, but there was a section of fog over the mountain, so be careful. 🚀Must see: Zero kilometer parking is recommended to park at parking lot No. 4, next to the ticket office and bus boarding point! There is a toilet!

A little too much commercialised as you can find a gift shop inside a temple or vending machine even at the foot of the Buddha where people stay in the queue and wait for a long time just to get there. But generally it's really worth your time and money. Don't skip Moruo Memorial Hall, it is the best view on Lingbao Pagoda from there.
