The tour started on time. We were given plenty of time in Alberobello but couldn't sit too long for lunch as there were just so many I wanted to explore. There was no guide for Alberobello, they gave you a booklet with a map and then you are on your own. As for Matera, luckily I opted for a guided tour, I paid an extra €20 for that before boarding the bus in the morning, and it's the best decision ever otherwise you would be wasting your time in Matera. Matera is huge and has a lot of history, having a tour guide helped to cover important spots in Matera and the local guide we had was so wonderful, he speaks a few languages, from English to Spanish, and he has a very good knowledge about the city. It was such a wonderful day, although there was a lot of walking in Matera but it was worth the time. I would totally recommend doing this kind of tour if you are short in time in Puglia but want to cover 2 or 3 places in a day.

We regret not buying the Alberobello tour with a guide because with an audio guide you can get lost. In Matera we had a magnificent guide, everything was great, very organized, punctual, highly recommended.

Absolutely recommend this tour! Excellent guide who was friendly & provided great overview of local history. The grottos and turquoise water are beautiful. My recommendation is book tour before sunset - a really exceptional experience!

The car transfer was great, we could get to all destinations fairly easy. Our guide was giving us some tips at each drop off place. For the last stop in Polignano we had 1,5 hours scheduled freetime only, which was very very small time for that beautiful city, but I just let our guide know that I stay there longer on my own, and it was absolutely worth it.


