Really hands down the best deal ever. With the pass, except Sanyo and Sakura shinkenshen, pretty much all trains are available to be used. Booking are free up to 6 times after pass is issued. Prior to that a booking fee has to be paid with booking made on line for popular trains.★

Arriving in Fukuoka, we still had time to grab a bite before catching the express bus to Kurokawa Onsen. The flight wasn't delayed, and the first leg of our trip went smoothly.★

Overall, it's optional; all eight "hell" destinations are pretty much the same, so just look at a few. If you're going to visit all of them, then you can buy a voucher. I only looked at three. There's really no need to buy one, plus the bus schedules are unpredictable, and one leg of the journey involved taking another bus, so the voucher couldn't be used. It was still cash payment, but the card collection process was very convenient.★

It would be better to ride this train in season for a more intense experience. I left a bit early for the journey, as nature was just beginning to come alive. Overall, I enjoyed the trip.
