We took the afternoon tour with lunch and dinner. They picked us up in a nice, air conditioned van from our hotel and we drove around the island for about 11hrs. Our first stop was the Greenwell coffee farm with free samples, which we really enjoyed! We also stopped at a bakery and the black sand beach for lunch. Later, we went to the volcanoes national park to see some steam vents, lave tube and the start of an eruption before having dinner and heading back to Kona. Definitely recommend doing a tour to save yourself the hours of driving and planning!

I had an excellent day with Mel our tour guide who not only drove us all around Big Island but also shared his Hawai’i and his extensive knowledge on the islands, its history, geology and more. Flying in from Honolulu to Kona is a 47 minutes flight with a very easy pickup. The tour takes you aroud the south east cpast of the island up to the volcano, the highlight of the day with its breath taking lookouts. We even had time for a lava and sea lookout before the lava tube. Overall a great experience that I would definitely recommend with eyes closed. You can do the tour flying in from Oahu for the day or if you are visiting Big Island directly.

Henry was such a great tour guide and since other parties cancelled we got a private tour of Kona coffee tasting, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, rainbow falls and candies Big Island. We had such a fabulous time on our honeymoon tour. Highly recommend it!


