The performance was so-so, and the food was similar to breakfast at a 4-5 star hotel, though still enough to fill you up. Drinks are charged separately. Finally, I suggest Ctrip also send out the VIP tickets for the middle section, as seating inside isn't free; tickets purchased through Ctrip only allow you to sit on the sides or at the back.★

We had an amazing time with our tour guide Sam, he was full of information at every stop and told us loads about the Khmer Rouge and his experience during that time so that context was really useful when we saw the killing caves, though it was difficult to hear about. My partner and I were the only ones to book onto the morning section so we got a private tour for the first part! We learnt loads about the Cambodian culture and their way of life and it was fascinating to see how they make things like rice paper and rice noodles - we even got to try some spring rolls and rice wine (strong stuff at 10am but still tastes nice). The afternoon part was great fun doing the bamboo train and seeing the bat caves but if you want a proper look into real Khmer culture I’d massively recommend doing the full day experience, we got to see so much and it’s such great value for money.Trip.com picks
