Global esim was fast even in our layover in Bangkok. The Kazakhstan esim was also fast. I can even use it as a hotspot in my other phone. It works in a lot of countries, the price isn't anything amazing especially depending where you are traveling but it is convenient. I would recommend getting 1gb per day and be prepared that the coverage isn't great.★

If you install an eSIM before arriving in Sri Lanka, you can connect to local signals immediately by simply changing a few settings on your smartphone after arrival. This can be completed by the time the plane lands at Colombo Airport and parks. It's much easier than a physical SIM. The instructions are sent to you via email after you apply, so anyone should be able to do it. 5G connectivity is excellent within Colombo city.
