I purchased a plan in Russia for the number of days I needed and activated the eSIM at the airport upon arrival in Vietnam, connecting to Wi-Fi. I used this in KL, Bangkok and Shanghai. Overall the signal was ok. Sometimes we do get a drop out but it’s not often. We managed to use all social media platforms with this eSIM at Shanghai. Only thing is if you want to hail a ride you’ll need a number for it in china.
