Overall, my experience taking the VIP bus back to Hanoi from Ha Long Bay was quite good, and I would recommend it as a transportation option. Firstly, the pick-up and drop-off arrangements were reassuring: the bus arrived at the designated location on time, and the driver and staff were friendly and polite, communicating fluently in English, making it easy for travelers unfamiliar with the local language to board. The staff also ensured that luggage was securely placed, eliminating the need for passengers to carry it themselves. The bus itself is VIP-level, with seats much more spacious than regular buses, a comfortable seat distance, and adjustable backrests. The interior was clean and tidy, and the air conditioning worked well, keeping the bus cool even in the sweltering summer heat. There were no aggressive sales pitches or shopping stops along the way (this varies depending on the operator, but I didn't encounter any), which is a huge plus for travelers wanting to go directly to Hanoi. The journey takes approximately 3.5–4 hours (subject to slight variations depending on traffic conditions), with one rest stop along the way for convenient restroom breaks, drinks, or a short walk. The driver's driving style is steady, and he doesn't make you too nervous when cornering or overtaking, so the overall sense of security is good.

Great service and comfy cabin! Really impressed with HK Buslines. The bus was clean, the cabin was comfy, and the bed was surprisingly cosy for an overnight trip. But the ride felt very shaky at times, especially on winding roads, and engine noise made it hard to sleep deeply. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. A straight bus from Sapa to Ha Long saved us hours of transfer hassle. Staff were helpful and communication via WhatsApp was clear. No toilet on board, but we made few rest stops so it was fine. Would definitely recommend!
