The overall satisfaction with this tour is 100%. Not only was a local guide arranged throughout the trip, but three staff members were also assigned to serve our entire tour group. The staff were attentive, responsible, and managed the time well, making advance reservations for various matters. They were very helpful!

At first I thought $300 p/p was a bit steep for a ride up to the summit but what you get with it really does make it memorable. I will also say our guide Johnny was phenomenal - good music, good stories, very informative and personable. Going up to the summit would at a minimum require renting an equipped 4x4 and a dicey downhill drive in the dark and possibly rain. But in addition to safe transportation you get: -a geology lesson - historical and cultural context lessons - a photographer (and a pretty good and considerate one at that) -decent road snacks packaged up for you -a parka you probably didn’t pack for a trip to HI -an astronomy lesson -telescope viewing -included professional nighttime photos - actual free images of what you saw through the telescope that night -hot chocolate, tea, and oatmeal at the summit

I stayed at the Xiamen Haiyue Mountain Villa Hotel. The facilities were complete, and the surrounding environment was first-class. It was just a pity that I didn't get to ride bikes on the opposite seaside avenue because of the rain. Although the price was a bit high, it was worth it, and I would still go again next time. However, I didn't get to enjoy the ground service; the 100 yuan fee was a bit confusing. Next time, I'll just book the hotel directly.
