I used this service during a temporary return to Japan. The connection speed wasn't noticeably slow. However, when using it within Japan, apps like PayPay won't work unless you connect via VPN, as they'll recognize it as an overseas connection. Similarly, Amazon Prime Video and other services will have different content available.★

The overall experience was much more convenient than expected. Before departure, I simply scanned a QR code in Taiwan to pre-register with the plan. After arriving at the local airport and turning on my phone, I activated data roaming and connected to the internet within seconds. This completely saved me the trouble of queuing to buy a physical SIM card or getting a SIM card ejector tool to replace the SIM card, and I didn't have to worry about losing my original Taiwan SIM card.★
