Exploring the area by bike is always a good idea, especially if it takes you past the tulip fields in Lisse! Friendly guides, who are from Lisse themselves, can answer all your questions about the region and tulips. I took the tour in the late afternoon, when the cycle paths are quieter. Ideal for those who cycle less frequently. The meeting point is also easily accessible by public transport. However, keep in mind that there can be traffic jams entering Lisse during peak season. But seeing the tulips by bike is definitely recommended (secretly a more enjoyable experience than Keukenhof!)

The weather was perfect for our bike ride the first weekend in May. Ingrid was a very knowledgeable guide and answered our many questions. It’s a beautiful way to spend the day. I highly recommend this excursion. If you are visiting from downtown Amsterdam, figure out the Metro and bus to get there. Hiring a taxi or Uber to drive you to Keukenhof is very expensive.
