Although it was June, it was a hot and humid day, making it difficult to even walk around. I bought a ticket for the "Horikawa Meguri" tour, which takes you on a small boat tour of the moat below Matsue Castle. There are several boarding points, which is very convenient. Because the area is surrounded by a moat, it can sometimes take a long detour to get from your starting point to your destination. I opted for the small boat as a way to avoid that. Thanks to this, I was able to stroll around the city without any stress.

I don't recommend buying in winter. The first day was light snow, the second moderate snow, and the third heavy snow. On the first day, I went from Kobe to Yura and then to Conan. On the second day, I went from Yonago to the seafood market in Sakaiminato, which was so-so; I only bought some souvenirs. On the third day, I planned to go from Yonago to Izumo and Matsue, but the railway was suspended due to a notice that reserved-seat trains were not running. So, I decisively went from Yonago to Okayama on the third day to buy a ticket and escape back to Kobe. If you really want to go, I suggest going when the weather is mild. After all, the Japanese countryside and Japanese cities are not on the same level of tourist experience.
