This tour was absolutely the highlight of our trip. Gabriel was our guide for a fabulous tour of the cloud forest in Mindo with incredible bird sightings. After picking us up early in the morning from our hotel, we headed to the cloud forest. Along the way we stopped at several different spots to see vast numbers of bird species. Gabriel was an expert in identifying the different birds for us. The shear number of different hummingbirds and tangiers that we saw was unbelievable. We also took a cable ride across the Mindo valley for spectacular views followed by a nice hike to a beautiful waterfall with many more bird sightings along the way. We had a most delicious lunch at a local restaurant. We then headed in search of the Andean Cock of the Rock and were able to see several in a remote area. This was such an awesome experience. Gabriel took such great care of us and made sure we had plenty of time for photography. If you love birdwatching and/or bird photography, then this tour is a must with the best guide ever, Gabriel.★

We had an unforgettable day trip to Mindo. Luiz, our driver, picked us up promptly from our Airbnb in Quito, and in the evening, he offered an extra service by driving us and our luggage to our next accommodation.
The route from Quito to Mindo takes you through various microclimates. Our guide provided us with fascinating information about them along the way.
In Mindo, we visited a bird sanctuary where numerous hummingbirds can be observed in their natural habitat – simply beautiful!
Afterwards, we went to an adventure park where you can "fly" over the rainforest on various zip lines.
The day was rounded off with a visit to a cacao plantation, where we learned a great deal about the production of cacao and chocolate.
An eventful day that we will fondly remember.★

Our guide for the day was Christian. He was AWESOME! He provided us with so much information about their history, volcanoes, cultures, etc. The zip lining was way more than expected. There were 10 lines and they were so accommodating when I was slow climbing to the next one. The chocolate tour is a must as well. You get to experience so many things from preparing to tasting and even a chocolate mask! And of course the butterfly and hummingbird farms put such a smile on my face. Getting to have them land on you and see them up close was unbelievable. Everyone should try and do this tour and hope you get Christian as your guide!
