The signal is good. At first, I was worried it wouldn't be enough, but it actually was. I used it normally, without trying to conserve data at all. I updated my Instagram stories all day, used Facebook and Line, and sent tons of photos home. If you're just traveling, looking at maps, using Instagram and Line, you don't need an unlimited plan. This is enough, and it's cheaper too. The signal was strong even in Kamakura and Kawagoe.

I'm going to South Korea next month, so I was looking into eSIMs (for the first time) and found out I could use one when I run out of data at the end of the month, so I decided to try it. I also received a separate email with instructions on how to scan a QR code, but I was able to activate it directly through the app, and it was super quick. I had planned to just install it beforehand and activate it later at my desired time, but since I was in Japan, it picked up a signal immediately and activated on its own. The signal sometimes cuts out because the access point is in Hong Kong, but I'm glad I was able to deal with my end-of-month data shortage cheaply.

It was a very interesting trip to Japan, but I probably won't be going back anytime soon. My company's project there for this year has been successfully completed. Thanks to Ctrip for recommending the SIM card, the speed is so fast!

I traveled to Tokyo, Japan from June 20th to 25th, visiting Asakusa, Yokohama, Ginza, Tokyo Station, and other areas. Before the trip, I researched numerous network tests and user recommendations, ultimately choosing Trip's native eSIM unlimited data plan. Since there were two providers, and I wasn't sure about the differences, I bought both to test. In actual use, both plans offered very stable network speeds. Whether at Narita Airport, Haneda Airport, on the subway, or at various tourist attractions, I didn't encounter any slowdowns or poor signal. Unlike many other users' experiences, my connection was smooth throughout the entire trip. I regularly use Google Maps for navigation, research, sending messages on Line, browsing social media, and even playing Pikmin Bloom; everything was smooth with no lag or disconnections. I would definitely repurchase if I went to Japan again.
