It worked right away at the airport, connected via Wi-Fi. You have to select "data roaming" in the cellular network settings!!!
The coverage is stable, I used it in Da Nang. I took 1 GB per day for surfing the internet, sometimes using Google Maps, Instagram, and YouTube. The Wi-Fi at the hotel was more than enough. I took it for 5 days to test it out, and extended it for another 15 ;)★

The eSIM worked perfectly the whole time I was in Vietnam. Straightforward to install - I screen shot the QR code and sent it to my husband by WhatsApp, so I could open it in his phone then use my phone’s camera to install it. Can’t fault it and a reasonable price.★
