We traveled to the Douro Valley with two families (4 adults and 3 kids ages 11–13), and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Our first stop was Quinta da Roêda (Croft), where we enjoyed a fun and relaxed port tasting. We then had lunch at a wonderful locals restaurant, Tábua D’aço, easily the best meal of our whole Porto trip, with incredible food and truly amazing staff.
After lunch, we enjoyed a scenic one-hour river cruise, followed by an olive oil and wine tasting at D’Origem, which ended up being our favorite stop of the day.
João was fantastic throughout the entire experience — attentive, knowledgeable, and incredibly detail-oriented. He also did a great job engaging the kids, which made the day enjoyable for everyone. The car was spotless, comfortable, and perfect for our group.
Thank you, João, for making this such a memorable and special experience for our families.

Norma was delightful and gave a comprehensive tour, description of the family business and winery process, and overview of the area. Whether or not you are a wine expert, this was such a great window into the culture and essence of the winery as well as the area. The facilities are beautiful and the scenery and winery could not be more picturesque. Just a 10+ all around!★

We had an exceptional experience at Fado na Baixa in Porto. The performance featured highly professional musicians and singers who delivered traditional fado music with remarkable passion and emotion. Their beautiful performances truly moved the audience.
Between the live performances, the show included informative video clips that explored the history of fado, including the Coimbra style of fado and the important role of female fado singers. Learning about the origins and evolution of this music greatly deepened our appreciation of what we were hearing.
The space itself was super intimate and cozy, which made the experience feel even more personal and immersive.
If we return to Portugal, we would definitely love to experience this performance again. We strongly recommend Fado na Baixa to all visitors to Portugal.★

We had an incredible time on the boat trip, with stunning sunset views that made the evening truly special. The atmosphere was intimate, with few people on board, so it felt like a personalised experience. The crew was very friendly, offering small snacks and a glass of wine to enjoy. You could also buy Vinho Verde on the boat or bring along your snacks and alcohol if you wanted. Just keep in mind that the departure point is about 35 minutes away from the city centre, so plan your transport accordingly.
