During my trip from January 12th to 21st, I felt a bit chilly in the mornings and evenings when it was windy and raining, but I was happy to be able to use the internet smoothly without any issues with the signal when I rented a car and traveled around the island. Setting it up after arriving and switching it on after returning to Tokyo were also no problem. I'd like to use it again when I fly to the US.★

The phone settings instructions to get data roaming to work didn’t match my phones interface, which made it very confusing to get my eSIM to start working. I am using an Australian iPhone 17 with iOS 26.2.★
