Lake Komani is beautiful. The river cruise takes about an hour, so if you're planning to cross it in summer, you don't need warm clothes. The Shala River is truly impressive; the crystal-clear, icy water flows with the current, so swimming there is quite a challenge but an incredible experience! I recommend bringing water shoes, as there are quite large rocks, but I managed without them. The place also has a few pubs and bars, so you won't go hungry. I booked the trip with transportation from the Durres area; the route takes about three hours each way.

The day was fantastic. Everything was organized. We initially considered driving and just taking the boat, but then we took the minibus from Shkodër, and it turned out to be the best option. The road is beautiful but long and winding, and after a day out, the return journey would have been tiring for the driver! Once we reached the river, everything was available: food, sun loungers, and umbrellas. There are also free spots, but it's not recommended given the large rocks. We brought our own food, and the water is guaranteed to stay cool given the river temperature! Still, it's an experience worth having. The only downside is the guide... He never spoke, so I can't comment on that! Have a great holiday everyone!
