I bought this at the last minute at the queue of purchasing the ticket at the station which costs jpy 12000. This is much cheaper and easy to exchange for the ticket within minute. if travelling to furano area back and forth as the train is all reserved seats which costs $50+ one way to asahikawa station, which already worth the jr pass back n forth. Train ticket is also included for furano area (however note that additional cost will be charged for reservation for special trains and timing for furano is irregular and one may need to pay for bus ride). You may explore more to make it worthwhile like travel to otaru or to airport etc.

It's very practical, but it's a bit of a loss if the railway is operating in winter. Hokkaido has beautiful scenery, but train tickets are too expensive. Using this is more cost-effective if you're visiting multiple places. However, if there's a blizzard and the railway stops, there are no refunds.

I was extremely satisfied with the trip and must give the tour guide a five-star rating! The guide was not only highly professional and his explanations of the sights were lively and interesting, but he also demonstrated exceptional care and patience. I received a QR code immediately after purchase. I was able to exchange it for a pamphlet containing a one-day pass and points vouchers at the tourist information center at Hakodate Station. I was able to use a coupon, so it was cheaper than buying it normally. The weather in Hakodate was pleasant, and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.
