Very knowledgeable 2 tour guides. Nice bus and schedule, but included lunch was too simple - a lot of rice and potato, but not any meat.

This is going to be a long review because the experience we had was so beyond amazing that I need to share every detail. However incase it is a TLDR review my biggest take away is if you are a mom traveling with younger kids go with this company!! I have done alot of things like this with my kids over the years. Usually I spend the whole time trying to keep the kids focused happy and entertained. Generally missing the whole experience myself. However Vanessa made sure that I also got to enjoy. My 8 year old was struggling and she was so incredibly patient with him. She helped him the whole time. Told him Mom wants to enjoy too BUT then was so caring with him that I actually was able to relax and enjoy. She pulled him around the water during snorkeling, showing him things yet never missing a beat to still make sure we got a full tour. Then when he was at the point that he was done but we werent she had another guide take him to shore and watch him (still visible to me though) so he could play in the sand and shore where he was happy and we could continue seeing the turtles. I have so much more to say but this was something that impressed me most as I have never experienced this level of caring and service during something like this. It ended with my 8 yr old telling me if we come back he wants to see Vanessa again and gave her 2 hugs and usually he is too shy to even talk to others. We found Ocean tours online. We reached out to ask questions. They were always quick to respond. Clear with their answers and booking was a breeze. From start to finish it was a seamless process Doing a private tour was more expensive but had plenty of advantages. We set our own time for pick up . Even though we went down 15 mins early. Vanessa and the driver and photographer were already there waiting. Vanessa truly was an unbelievable guide. She told us english was her second language but she spoke so well. It was clear the kids could understand her and were so comfortable with her. She not only was great at showing us wild life or explaining what we were seeing. She also was very knowledgeable on the cultures and histories of the mayans and areas we visited. She kept everyone invested and engaged. The driver was great. He always took my bags and helped me out of the van. He was very attentive and even put on welcome to the jungle as we entered a jungle road to head to yaxmulito . Definitely had us all laughing! Akumal beach was amazing swimming through the reef was absolutely wonderful .... we saw so much! Trumpet fish, puffer fish, lobster, stingray and so many fish. Plus quite a few turtles! We did Yaxmulito cenote and it was probably the coolest thing I have ever done. It was so incredibly breathe taking. I could have stayed all day. The whole trip we had a photographer Maxi. He was so great. He had us pose for some pics , he was great with the kids! He also got so many candid pics. Shots of the wild life but also shots of us I didnt even know he took. They were stunning photos. Even my husband who never wants to buy extras agreed he wanted them! I cant stop looking at them! Overall we know a private tour is significantly more expensive but can say its so worth it. This was by far our favorite day of our vacation. We are incredibly grateful to Ocean tours, Vanessa , Maxi and our driver for doing an amazing job and giving us such a wonderful day and all these beautiful memories. Highly recommend booking with ocean tours.... I would definitely say request Vanessa!
