We enjoyed a very comprehensive tour of Soweto and Johannesburg. Our guide Oupa was very informative and filled our minds with some fantastic facts and history about South Africa. Our guide was Thomas, and he did a fantastic job. We were picked up at the designated point—near the museum—and then taken to our hotel. The tour itself was a complete immersion into the history of Soweto. A walk down a street in a poor neighborhood was particularly impressive. It's sad to know that such places exist in the world, especially near a large and well-off city. The tour was safe, and safety is crucial in this region.

Hotel pick up was prompt, in a clean, new, van with good AC. Tour guide was knowledgeable. Description was accurate of what to expect. Mandela house was interesting, had about twenty minutes there. Only two hours at apartheid museum, which was on our own, not with the guide. I could have used 3 hours and others on the tour agreed. Guide offered water but no opportunity for snacks, but you can buy food at the apartheid museum. I think this was a good use of a half day in Joburg, which I needed while waiting for an evening flight.

Our guide, Clement, was prompt and very knowledgeable about all the areas and questions we had. We never felt rushed and always felt safe. He picked us up from our hotel and we spent the whole day around Jo-burg visiting different neighborhoods and important sights. After Constitutional Hill, we toured Soweto and had a delicious buffet lunch in one of their popular restaurants. After lunch, we walked around Soweto to witness the Hector Peterson trail and finally ended the day at the Apartheid Museum. It was an incredible day for our family and friends and it wouldn’t have been without Clement’s expertise. He made it very unique, special, and memorable. What a great guide!

We have just returned from the full day Soweto Tour including lunch and the Apartheid Museum. Whereas I always write reviews when something was great, I do take my time to do so. Not this time- I actually cannot wait to write this review, because we (family of five with three teenagers!) LOVED this tour. Our tour guide Khutso was not only very knowledgeable, he also was super friendly, entertaining, enthusiastic and very engaging. He accommodated all the photo wishes. Please do this tour and of you can go with Khutso, you will love it even more. We also like to mention Simon, the driver, who did a marvelous job and Hope, who was the local guide within the poorer part of Soweto (great way to support! Loved the visit to the kindergarten!!!). Strongly recommend Khutso and this tour!
