Reviews: Stavanger: Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock) Hike with Local Guide
Guest User2026-10-23
The trip to Preikestolen was fantastic! We were so glad to have a guide. The route is well-marked, but since we don't hike that much, it was great to have some encouragement along the way. Our guide (I think her name was Christina) also told us a lot about the surrounding area and gave us valuable tips for the next stops on our cruise. Helpful tips for future hikers: Restrooms: There's a restroom available before the tour starts, but not afterward. Footwear: We definitely recommend sturdy hiking boots, as the trail is very rough. Clothing: When we did the tour on October 14th, a winter jacket wasn't necessary. Layering with a fleece and rain jacket was absolutely perfect for those temperatures – even at the top of Preikestolen.
