The package included a guided tour of Stone Town, but after visiting Prison Island and the Naku Penda Sand Dunes, the tour was supposed to end there. Only after I appealed did they finally call a guide and allow me to continue the tour. The tour to the island went smoothly and was satisfactory, but the ending wasn't quite what I expected.

An organized tour would be best, lots of narrow streets that twist and turn. Lots of interesting neighbourhoods to see.

I had such a wonderful day with Ismael on this tour. We started with the spice farm where I learned so much about Zanzibar’s spices and got to eat delicious pilau rice. Ismael was very knowledgeable and explained things very well. We then went on a tour of stone town and learned about the history of the East African slave trade and got to see the markets. Finally ended at prison island and got to spend time with the turtles and other animals on the island. I really appreciate Ismael’s explanations of everything, made my experience 10x better.

Modi arranged for us pickup from/to airport and a 3 days excursions program including one day to prison island and Nakupenda sandbank picnic, one day safari to Mikumi and one day tour of Jozan forest and spice farm. Everything was well organized and resulted in a memorable experience from our visit to Zanzibar.


