We had an absolutely fantastic tour! Throughout the whole day we were able to discover places from one of our favorite anime movies – a real highlight for fans, but also simply a beautiful way to experience the city from a unique perspective. The atmosphere was very relaxed, and we never felt rushed, but could enjoy everything at our own pace. Along the way, we also made several food stops, which made the tour even more varied and enjoyable. A very special highlight was making our own bracelets in a traditional Japanese way – such a unique and memorable experience that gave us a wonderful keepsake from the day. Our guide was simply amazing: super friendly, open, and very knowledgeable. We quickly felt comfortable with him, and he answered all of our questions – not only about the tour itself, but also about Japan in general. All in all, it was a beautiful, very personal tour that we can highly recommend!★

The pick-up and return journey were easy and smooth. The bus drivers only spoke broken English, but they made every effort to explain everything to me clearly, using gestures and Google Translate. The bus was comfortable, and there were plenty of stops along the way to get snacks, drinks, or use the cramped restroom. On the way back, there were even sleeping seats with blankets and blackout capes.★

The overall itinerary was somewhat rushed due to Japanese driver service time regulations. The Takayama leg of the trip was particularly tight, mainly because completing a meal and a full visit to the Takayama Jinya (traditional Japanese houses) within two hours was quite strenuous. Two hours was more than enough for the Shirakawa-go Gassho-zukuri village. The tour guide was very professional and nice, and his explanations were quite interesting. The group members came from all over the world, with mainland Chinese tourists making up about 10%, making it a very international team.
