Reviews: Abel Tasman National Park: Cruise, Walk & Sailing Tour
Guest User2026-02-19
I really enjoyed the sailing and the chance to explore the beautiful Abel Tasman Park trails and beaches. The crew were informative and friendly, the wind was good and the sun shone, so it was a great day out to swim at Anchorage Bay and walk to Pitt Head and Te Puketea Bay and swim in idyllic waters. We saw weka birds and seals and gorgeous scenery. I would highly recommend this trip with Inky and the crew.
Reviews: Abel Tasman Kayaks: 1 Day Freedom Kayak Rental

The day started with a good explanation of how to use the kayak. It's great that it has a large waterproof storage compartment, perfect for a backpack with lunch. Then we were taken to the water, and after a brief instruction session, we were allowed to go completely independently. The map we received was helpful for navigating the water. A fun addition was spotting seals.
Reviews: Abel Tasman: Sea Shuttle Cruise and Walking Tour Combo

We chose option C, "5 Beaches." A good level of fitness is definitely necessary, as the route involves several ascents and descents of approximately 200 meters. We started in Awaroa at 11:00 AM and booked the return trip for 5:00 PM from Meadlands Beach. With a lunch break and no rush along the route, we then had about an hour to spend on the beach. The transport was excellent; on the return trip, the boat arrived 20 minutes before departure but waited for all the passengers, who seemed to have been counted out.

The views and sounds of the sea, the islands, Split Apple, seals, birdsong … were amazing. The staff interpretation and stories were great as well.

It was a perfect match of relaxing on the Catamaran and the hike of almost 13km through the Abel Tasman National Park. We were lucky and were blessed with lovely weather. All in all… we really enjoyed the day and would highly recommend the tour!
