Norma was delightful and gave a comprehensive tour, description of the family business and winery process, and overview of the area. Whether or not you are a wine expert, this was such a great window into the culture and essence of the winery as well as the area. The facilities are beautiful and the scenery and winery could not be more picturesque. Just a 10+ all around!

We loved this tour. It was private for my family. 2 adults and 2 kids. Sandro our driver and tour guide made our day pleasant, was very caring with our kids and very thoughtful of everything. Good conversation during our drive, sharing hospitality,history and local charm to our day. Lunch was a typical portuguese meal which I describe as comfort food, it was very good. River cruise was very nice as well and everything running on time. Our favorite part was the porto tasting with Teresa from Villa do Souza. She was the most charming lady, very knowledgeable of wine making, sharing stories and making sense of all the process and somehow we left like we knew her since forever. Very genuine and we left with our hearts full after that conversation with her.

This is a second time we did Douro Valley tour with Carlos. Our group had a fantastic time. Carlos takes the time to plan the right wineries to visit with the appropriate time allocated to make the experience memorable.

Alex was a great host for the day. Pick up time and location was as advertised. He did well with driving to the various destinations and giving us enough time to experience them. Small van that accommodates 8 people, but if you're tall than arrive early to the pick up location so you don't have to sit in the front. I was in the front beside him, so I got to talk with him throughout the day on different topics and he was a great conversationalist. He took us to Regua instead of Amarante at the beginning of the day because of road construction work in Amarante, but as a bonus he did take us to Amarante at the end of the day for a few minutes, even though he didn't have to! The lunch in Pinhao was excellent with a lot of food that our group enjoyed, but was so much we couldn't finish! The boat ride was fine, but it's on a boat with other tour groups. It didn't really affect us because the ride wasn't full, but I can see it being an issue during busier months. The other stops at the Sandeman winery and olive oil museum were also good and provided overviews of both port wine and olive oil production in the region (plus some amazing panoramic views). It's a full 10 hour day, so be mindful of that when booking!


