Reviews: Uxmal and Choco Story Private Tour
Guest User2024-06-16
Vicente is such an amazing guide. His vast knowledge of Mayan history was such a gift. My daughter (16) and I (mom) felt so taken care of by Vicente and Alejandro the driver. They always made sure we had snacks and water, and even provided us with a chilled cloth for our faces after touring Uxmal in sweltering heat. The private tour allows you to go at your own desired pace. Uxmal was an amazing site and allows you to be up close and personal with the ruins. Choco Story is a bit of a museum feel with an animal sanctuary added. The chocolate ceremony and tasting was very nice. Lunch was also delicious at a nearby restaurant. We cannot thank Vicente and Alex enough for our incredible day trip! So worth every penny!
Reviews: From Mérida:Uxmal and amazing cenotes guided tour with lunch

Eric was the guide and drove for us. He was very helpful before the trip accommodating our needs and explaining everything we needed to ensure we enjoyed the trip. He did a great job guiding us through Uxmal. We learned so much and it was the right amount of time. The lunch place (a country kitchen, not even a restaurant) had the best food we had on the trip. The two cenotes were private, no crowded and very picturesque. We were so glad to pick this trip.

Miguel worked very hard and did a good job, constantly jumping from explanations in English and Spanish. It must have been difficult as our group was evenly split between the two languages. I thought the explanations could have been more in-depth and provided more of the history. Miguel struggled a bit to answer questions given in English. I did not think the cenote stop was worthwhile. It's quite far off the main road back to Merida, and the site is very basic and rustic. I would have appreciated more time at the historical sites since we had paid so much extra to enter them. ($40).

Such a beautiful and magical place. I loved it more than Chichen Itza. The grounds were lovely and the ruins extensive. The guide gave very informative explanations.
