The sightseeing throughout the trip was, well, let's just say it wasn't great. The attractions on Jeju Island are really disappointing, at least on my one-day east coast tour. The visit to an old woman's house, in particular, felt like a forced addition to the itinerary. They then subtly tried to sell you some local specialties. Of course, it wasn't a problem if you didn't buy anything; they were still very friendly, but I felt it was a waste of time. There were foreigners present throughout, which diminished the effectiveness of the Chinese-language commentary. While I understand English, the Korean translation into English, and then my mental translation back into Chinese, significantly reduced my comprehension. My friend also said the barbecue for lunch was bad, so I had bibimbap, which was alright, as I didn't have high expectations for tourist lunches anyway. Finally, the tour guide was good; everything went according to plan without any delays or postponements. The photo is of the old woman's house; judge for yourself.
