Tongshou Landscape Attraction is located between Liangwan River, a surface river in the lower reaches of Sanmenhai Lake. It is the core Attraction of Fengshan World Geopark and the second outlet of the five-in-five-out (light and dark river alternation) of Bama Changshou Panyang River. The water is rich in mineral elements beneficial to the human body and is weakly alkaline. It flows out through Baimo Cave. The water cave corridor is 1100m long, 20-50m wide, and 50-70m high from the water surface to the cave top. The corridor is rich in negative oxygen ions, with gurgling green water, winding streams, deep waterways, and sometimes bright and sometimes dark. The echo of the river water hitting the bank when the Cruise passes by lingers in the cave like a movement. The phoenix tail bamboos on both sides of the river are refreshing and soothing everywhere, which makes people intoxicated. It is known as the "Slender West Lake" in western Guangxi. "Thin" landscape, people have the same longevity, and the same longevity landscape. Bamboo rafts travel past Peng Zu's Hundred Longevity Terrace, the ancient river channel that has undergone tens of millions of years of geological changes, the sky above the water, the Smooth Sailing Stone with the seal of longevity, the divine turtle playing in the water that lingers on the earth, the treasure cave that hides the secret of longevity, the peaches in the Yaochi where fairies celebrate birthdays, and the Red Army Village where the Red Seventh Army once lost the seal of the Soviet regime.

Its southern end borders Guangxi; to the west it reaches Sanjiangkou at the junction of Yunnan, Guangxi, and Guizhou; to the north it adjoins the main peak of Wumeng Mountain. The peaks rise to 1,600 m, with an average elevation of 1,200 m, and forest coverage of 68.5%. Covering a total area of more than 2,000 sq km, it is a typical area for the development of world-class cone karst peak-forest landforms. The attraction has a pleasant climate, with no severe cold in winter and no extreme heat in summer, and has been listed in the national summer resort city rankings. It is a place for health and leisure tourism in China. The attraction is dominated by cone-shaped peak forests and peak clusters developed in Triassic strata, interspersed with various geological heritage views such as karst caves, dolines, underground rivers, sinkholes, and sedimentary strata. The peak-cluster and peak-forest landscape views are wide in distribution, diverse in type, rich in form, and complete in development, and are extremely rare in China and even worldwide. They are a typical representative of the cone karst landscape views formed in the transitional slope zone from the western Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau to the Guangxi hills, and are known as the "Museum of Chinese Cone Karst." The types of landscape resources in the attraction are mainly natural views such as pastoral scenery and spectacular mountain peaks, supplemented by cultural views such as ethnic minority villages. In terms of natural resources, according to the shapes of the peak forest, it is divided into types such as karst isolated peaks, valley peak forests, karst cone peaks, and blade-shaped stone peaks, forming a majestic and vast karst view. It is a typical representative of cone karst landscape views and has significant value for geological research; in terms of cultural resources, the long history of the Bouyei ethnic group has accumulated rich ethnic culture. Its clothing, language, and living customs all embody a strong ethnic cultural flavor. The "Eight-Tone Sitting and Singing," which enjoys the reputation of "living fossil of sound" and "sound of nature," is a folk storytelling and singing art passed down from generation to generation by the Bouyei ethnic group and has been rated as a "National Intangible Cultural Heritage."

Zhong Guo Tian Yan Jing Qu

Zhong Guo Tian Yan Jing Qu is nestled among the karst mountains of Pingtang, Guizhou. Built around the 500 m aperture spherical radio telescope FAST, it consists of two parts: the observation deck area in the mountains and the Pingtang Astronomy Town in Kedu Town. This telescope, known as the "China Sky Eye," rests in a natural funnel-shaped depression. More than 4,000 reflector units form a spherical-cap "wok," with a receiving area equivalent to nearly 30 football fields, and its aperture ranks among the world's largest among completed radio telescopes of its kind. From the proposal of the concept in the 1990s to its completion and commissioning in 2016, the project took more than 20 years, with site selection alone lasting over a decade. Astronomer Nan Rendong, who initiated and led the project, is therefore called the "father of China Sky Eye." Climbing to the observation deck to see the "big dish" is the highlight of the whole trip. To leave a quiet electromagnetic environment for the telescope, before entering the mountains you must store all electronic devices such as mobile phones, cameras, and smartwatches at the visitor service center, then transfer to a shuttle bus to reach the foot of the mountain and hike up more than 700 steps. Zodiac constellation patterns are embedded beside the steps, and if your stamina is limited you can also take a sightseeing bus instead. Standing on the observation deck at the summit, the 500 m aperture silver-gray "big dish" spreads out completely among the mountains, and the tiered viewing platforms let you examine its outline from different heights. There is no signal on the mountain, and you cannot take out your phone to take photos; this temporary "isolation from the world" is exactly the quiet that this telescope needs to work properly. The astronomy town at the foot of the mountain is a good place to round out the science popularization portion of the visit: the astronomy experience hall features themed exhibition halls on radio astronomy, galaxy exploration, and solar science popularization paired with sound, light, and electric interactive exhibits, and the on-site astronomical cinema screens astronomy films; electronic devices are allowed here, so you can take photos freely; the Nan Rendong Memorial Hall tells the story of the project from conception to completion in six chapters, and after seeing it, thinking back on that "pot" at the top of the mountain will feel very different; for a more thrilling experience, the motion seats in the dome flight theater can take you on a simulated "flight" over the telescope and the karst mountains. This telescope undertakes scientific tasks such as surveying neutral hydrogen in the universe, searching for pulsars, detecting interstellar molecules, and searching for signals of extraterrestrial civilizations, and it has discovered more than a thousand new pulsars since it began operation. With this background in mind, looking again at that "big wok" quietly "listening" to the universe, it is not just an artificial wonder, but more like a tireless listener to the cosmos.

5k reviews

Tongling Grand Canyon is located in Jingxi, Baise, Guangxi, and is a natural scenic area that combines tropical rainforest, rivers and waterfalls, gorges and karst caves, and other landscapes; it is also one of Jingxi's famous attractions. While visiting the attraction, you can stroll and take in the views amid the beautiful scenery and enjoy the fresh air of the forest oxygen bar. The attraction's Tongling Grand Waterfall, with a drop of 188 m, the magical cave waterfall and fantastical karst formations, and the ancient tree ferns that date back to the Jurassic period are among the finest representatives of Guangxi's beautiful scenery, and visitors can enjoy them to the fullest. Visiting the Tongling Grand Canyon attraction takes about 2-3 hours. After entering the attraction, simply follow the plank walkway on foot and tour along the way. The usual touring order is to first go from the main gate through Tongling Gorge to Tongling Grand Waterfall, explore the waterfall and the Water Curtain Cave behind it, then follow Happiness Road or the Lovers' Road you came by to Nianba Gorge, touring all the way on the return. Along the route, there are also beautiful views of gorges, rivers, and trees in alternation, and beside the path you can see views such as the approx. 800 m underground dark river and the ancient cliff cave burial site. At the Nianba exit, a shuttle bus takes visitors back to the attraction main gate; you can also walk back, which takes about 30 minutes. From the attraction entrance to Tongling Waterfall, there are more than 800 stone steps. Walking all the way down is not too tiring. On both sides of the path, there are spectacular canyon views, as well as pristine tropical rainforests, babbling streams, and small waterfalls, creating a very fresh and beautiful environment. Along the way, you can pay attention to the trees, such as fig trees and giant palm trees, most of which have unique shapes and obvious characteristics of tropical plants. There are also several ancient tree ferns that date back to the Jurassic period, so be sure to keep an eye out for them. Tongling Waterfall lies deep within the gorge and is a key view in the attraction, with a powerful flow of water. It sits within a narrow crevice, as if a massive torrent were pouring down from the top of the fissure—a spectacular and fantastical sight that is great for photos. Water Curtain Cave is located behind the waterfall, and inside the cave there are very distinctive lava formations with unique shapes, as well as a unique nine-tiered waterfall within the cave, which visitors can explore one by one.

Dongnayuwan Scenic Area

Dongnayuwan Scenic Area

8.1
4.5/5
1.7k reviews

Dongnayuwan Scenic Area is nestled along the Heishui River in Chongzuo, Guangxi, upgraded from the original Anping Fairy River attraction. Surrounded by karst peaks embracing an emerald bay with continuous mountain islets and bamboo-lined banks, it's hailed as the "Alternative Li River" and "Fairy River of Guangxi," serving as a filming location for TV dramas like The Journey of Flower. The main activity here is a boat cruise through the picturesque landscape, with painted barges gliding past mountain reflections before disembarking to explore stone forests and bamboo groves—offering distinct experiences by water and land. The highlight lies in the "Eight views of Dongnayuwan": Water illusion, Guantian Farm, Swallow Cave, Xiake Trail, Longbi Beach, Waterfall Market, Aquatic Stone Maze, and Puhuang Island. Guantian Farm divides fields according to Tusi (chieftain) land systems like water-carrying fields, horse-raising fields, and sedan-chair fields—each plot's name corresponding to the farmer's role in the chieftain's household. The staggered Xiake Trail provides prime views of Longbi Beach's tiered waterfalls, where heart-shaped rapids send white dragon-like streams through rocks into the river, their intensity varying with water levels. The Aquatic Stone Maze conceals a submerged stone forest with bizarre rocks encircling pools amid bamboo shadows. Puhuang Island allegedly gained its name when the Southern Ming Emperor Yongli stayed here with his empress, once serving as the backyard garden of Anping's Tusi. The area carries deeper Tusi cultural undertones. Daxin County is renowned as the "Hometown of Chinese Tusi Culture," with the scenic area located in Anping Village—the former seat of Anping Tusi Prefecture, where ruins of Ming-Qing dynasty Tusi offices still remain on the old street. In 1637, traveler Xu Xiake documented his visit to Anping Prefecture in his travelogue. Today, traditions like Tusi welcoming ceremonies, Bayin drum music, and the Nongdong Festival continue among local Zhuang communities, some adapted into performances that travelers might encounter unexpectedly within the attraction.

2.3k reviews

Mingshi Rural is located to the west of Daxin County in Chongzuo City, about an hour's drive from the famous Detian Transnational Waterfall attraction, and visitors usually tour both attractions together. Mingshi Rural features a unique karst landscape with graceful mountains surrounded by flowing water, creating extremely beautiful scenery. In addition to the scenery of mountains and water reflecting each other, the attraction also features fresh and rustic villages, farmlands, and other views. Visitors can come here to go bamboo rafting, take photos and enjoy the scenery, and experience the wonderful views and peaceful rural life. The TV drama "The Journey of Flower" once filmed here, making this place even more famous. Mingshi Rural covers a large area, mainly including the natural river and pastoral scenery in the upper reaches of the Mingshi River, as well as the Mingshi Rural Zhuang Ethnic Folk Museum built in the lower reaches. Visitors have two ways to explore: bamboo rafting and land sightseeing, and generally half a day is suitable for a visit. Many visitors also choose to stay overnight within the attraction to leisurely enjoy the surrounding scenery and experience the freshness and tranquility of pastoral life. Bamboo rafting is a popular way to explore the attraction. You can first reach the Mingshi Rural Zhuang Ethnic Folk Museum downstream, where you can purchase rafting tickets; a sightseeing bus can take visitors to the rafting departure point. The rafting lasts about 1 hour or more, and the boat is equipped with a guide who provides commentary along the way. On the rafting route, you can see beautiful peaks reflected in the river, with scenery very similar to views such as the Yellow Cloth Shoal Reflection in Guilin; you will also pass through crisscrossing farmland and quiet villages, with pastoral scenes that are truly refreshing. The endpoint of the bamboo rafting is the Mingshi Rural Zhuang Ethnic Folk Museum, which includes the Totem Square, artificial lake scenery, Zhuang villages, chieftain residences, and a style street. These mainly feature sculptures and residential architecture reflecting Zhuang customs, and you can take a brief tour. In addition, there are often Zhuang song and dance performances here; if you come across one, you can stop and enjoy it for a while. Another way to explore is land sightseeing: first visit the Mingshi Rural Zhuang Ethnic Folk Museum, then rent a bicycle here for cycling and sightseeing around the area. Bicycles are mostly rented from local hotels or farmhouses, and a cycling route map is provided upon rental; along the road beside the attraction, several routes are available to choose from. The commonly recommended route is heading northwest (i.e., upstream along the river), where you can enjoy beautiful karst and pastoral scenery similar to that seen on the bamboo rafting trip. Accommodation and catering The best place to stay in Mingshi Rural is Daxin Mingshi Resort, located within the attraction, offering beautifully situated view rooms and distinctive ethnic decor. Outside the attraction, there are express hotels such as Art Hotel · Mingshi Art Hotel (Daxin Mingshi Rural Visitor Center Branch) and Mingshi Express Hotel, as well as some local farmhouses, all with decent environments. You can choose your stay based on personal preference. Dining is also mostly at the place of stay, where you can order some authentic farm dishes to taste and savor the rural life.

Very good! It's a great place to go to the cave to see the cenote! The biggest feeling I had was that there was plenty of oxygen in the cave, and people felt very comfortable after entering. The scenery inside the cave was different from that outside the cave! I give it a five-point praise! The price is also OK, recommended!

The scenic spot is located on a mountain (Baijiaao) more than 20 kilometers away from Fengshan County. It should be a scenic spot run by local villagers themselves. There are many monkeys. The advantage is that unlike the park, monkeys are not kept in a pen on the Monkey Mountain. Here they are free-range and can interact with people. Remember to bring food such as melon seeds and peanuts when you come. Children like it, but the fee is 50 per adult and 30 for the elderly and children. The price is a bit high for paying to feed monkeys.

This attraction is a bit far from the subway station. Take Guiyang Metro Line 3 to Tongmuling (Provincial Party School) Station, then take a taxi or a shuttle bus for 5 yuan per person. The entire scenic area isn't large; two hours is enough to explore it. There are many stalls selling trinkets near the entrance, worth browsing. Further in, the main scenic area is filled with stone figures arranged along both banks of a stream. These are masterpieces created by local artist Song Peilun and the villagers over more than twenty years; you can learn about the story behind them. There are scheduled Nuo opera performances near the stage below, at 12:00 and 15:30 in summer and 12:30 and 15:30 in winter. It's worth checking out; they're quite unique.

A regular ticket is sufficient, as you'll find that there's simply not enough time to visit the paid attractions if you go at midday. Also, you must bring a film camera next to the Fast sign. It must be a battery-free film camera with manual metering. If possible, bring your own film, as film cameras at the attraction aren't cheap—300 yuan for 36 exposures.

Tongling Grand Canyon offers a complete experience of walking through waterfalls. The scenic area isn't very large, so it's not tiring to walk around. It's currently the off-season, so you can visit if you have time.

Entry to the park is convenient with your ID card, and the boat departs on time with a guide providing commentary on the scenery along the way. Personally, I prefer the land-based landscapes, especially the dragon fruit orchard, which has a Tuscan estate feel.

Fengshan National Geopark Museum is located in Chuanlongyan, east of Fengshan County, Guangxi. It covers an area of about 41,500 square meters, with a space height of 100 meters. There is a gurgling stream at the bottom all year round. It is the largest geological museum in my country built using natural caves, with the most stalactite exhibits, the most beautiful layout, and the most peculiar display. There are five exhibition areas in the museum, including graphic light box exhibition area, physical exhibition area, science demonstration and tourist service area, sand table model exhibition area, Fengshan tourism products and water scenic area. In terms of exhibition style, it organically combines various elements of cave original ecology and modern exhibition technology, highlighting the harmony of color, light and cave; in terms of exhibition content, in addition to the geological remains left at the original site, it also collects other scenic spots in Fengshan National Geopark and typical geological relics specimens from all over the country. It is a good place for leisure tourism and science education. It is currently undergoing engineering renovation and has been closed. We look forward to its completion and reopening to the public as soon as possible.

We visited on October 25th, coinciding with the local harvest festival, which was very lively. The people there were very nice, and the scenery was beautiful. We saw a rice harvesting competition and performances by singers. The scenery along the way was also lovely. If you have time to explore at your own pace, a day is well worth it.

This was my first time visiting Nanning Botanical Garden & Qingxiu Mountain. It was indeed very large, very green, and very comfortable. I walked around for more than four hours without feeling tired. I didn't take the shuttle bus out until I got hungry at 4 pm. It's a great place worth visiting many times. Northerners love it.
