Shizhu Mountain Scenic Area

Shizhu Mountain Scenic Area is located 10 km from the western suburbs of Fuqing City, right next to Liyu Lake. You can choose to hike all the way up, or take a cable car to the halfway point and then continue on foot to save energy. Looking down from the cable car, the view of Shizhu Lake is exceptionally beautiful. Not far from the upper cable car station is Shizhu Mountain Taoist Temple halfway up the mountain. This is an ancient temple where both Buddhism and Taoism coexist. The main deities worshipped inside are not the Jade Emperor or the Three Pure Ones, but the famous Nine Immortals of the He family in Taoism. Please note that incense and candles at the foot of the mountain are usually much cheaper than those on the mountain. You may encounter "helpful people" inside the temple who guide you on how to pray; this usually incurs an extra fee. If you are not interested, you can politely decline. If you are short on time, you can return from Shizhu Mountain Taoist Temple. If you want to enjoy more natural views, you can continue along the stone steps to the summit of Shizhu Mountain Scenic Area - Zhuangyuan Peak. The two hiking trails halfway up the mountain merge at Fuqiang Pavilion into a single path leading directly to the summit. Completing the entire route requires some physical stamina.Fuqing · 9.2km from downtown

"Three Lanes and Seven Alleys" is located in the heart of Fuzhou, collectively referring to ten historic lanes and alleys lining both sides of Nanhou Street from north to south. The "three lanes" are: Shuixie Stage, Wenru Lane, and Guanglu Lane. The "seven alleys" are: Yangqiao Alley, Langguan Alley, Anmin Alley, Huang Alley, Ta Alley, Gong Alley, and Jibi Alley. "Who would have thought the recluse of Five Willows and Lone Pine would dwell amidst Three Lanes and Seven Alleys?" This entire ancient residential quarter, first built during the Ming Dynasty, has been remarkably preserved through centuries of history spanning both Ming and Qing dynasties. The neighborhood houses former residences of numerous historical figures and even features a folk culture museum. As the saying goes, to understand a city, you don't need to traverse every street—just stroll down one historic lane at a leisurely pace. Walking through Three Lanes And Seven Alleys brings you closer to the heart of Fuzhou.Fuzhou · 41.1km from Fuqing

Through valuable artifacts, photographs, models, and immersive simulations enhanced by multimedia technologies, the exhibition highlights China's maritime achievements in modern technology, innovative education, industrial manufacturing, and cross-cultural exchanges. It honors pioneering thinkers while showcasing the nation's distinctive cultural spirit - marked by perseverance, intellectual curiosity, inclusive learning, creative innovation, and patriotic devotion. The China Shipping Heritage Museum (formerly China Modern Navy Museum) is situated at the foot of Maxian Mountain. This five-story building covers 4,100 square meters, with approx. 3,500 square meters dedicated to exhibition space. Originally established in 1997, it was renamed in 2005. Since 2004, the Fuzhou Development Zone government has invested over 6 million CNY in comprehensive renovations to promote maritime heritage culture, aligning with Fuzhou Municipal Committee's strategic initiative to "explore shipping heritage and revitalize Fuzhou tourism." The museum's five floors systematically present different aspects of maritime administration through thematic exhibitions. In April 2006, Lien Chan and his delegation visited the museum during their ancestral worship trip to Fujian Province. He remarked to reporters: "This museum chronicles the arduous modernization of China's maritime administration—a journey marked by formidable challenges. Our predecessors' perseverance offers profound inspiration: achieving national prosperity remains our generation's shared responsibility." Before departing, Lien inscribed the calligraphy: "Eastern wisdom as foundation, Western knowledge as application—Mawei's great vessels conquer turbulent waves."Fuzhou · 30.5km from Fuqing

Yantai Mountain is a mountain located in Cangshan District, Fuzhou City, Fujian Province. It is 41.6 meters above sea level. It overlooks Wuhu Mountain in the south and Sanshan Mountain in the north. It has the scenery of "Cangshan Mountain with mist and clouds, high hills and low rivers". The crisscrossing mountain streets and alleys are the unique geographical features here. Yantai Mountain has continued its prosperity for nearly a hundred years. It concentrates the essence of urban history. It is the Fuzhou version of "International Architecture Museum" and the solidified modern history of China. The beauty of Yantai Mountain is just as described by Mr. Ye Shengtao: "Almost every garden, road, flower, house and coachman here are poetic. What is particularly lovely is that when the evening sun is faint, a bell rings in the chapel, and several girls with flowery paper umbrellas walk under the green shade." Yantai Mountain presents history and fashion, classic and modern in a three-dimensional way in front of us. It is a new landmark that integrates modern and ancient, and is the forefront of the collision of Eastern and Western cultures. This is a rare alpine grassland in the south. It is lush in summer, with scattered cattle and cool breezes. There is a certain slope when hiking up the mountain, but the journey is not far, the degree of commercialization is low, and it is relatively primitive.

Everyone says that if you come to Fuqing, you must go to Shizu Mountain! Night tour is a beautiful choice! It was already seven o'clock after dinner, so we drove there! Go straight from the parking lot to the reservoir! Continue walking forward after reaching the reservoir, and then follow the bluestone road to the gate of Shizhu Mountain! 1,400 steps, officially started! Go straight up! Stop and go! Bluestone steps! The evening breeze blows gently! Stop when you are tired👣, there is a courtyard to rest every few dozen meters! Stop and go, don't overwork, don't force yourself! It's like life! There are many temples along the way! The fragrance of incense hits you in the face! Feel the power of compassion! Sincerity is the key, kowtow three times devoutly! Make a wish secretly! Continue forward, The night view of Shizhu Mountain is refreshing! Looking down from a high place, overlooking the green mountains and green waters! Feel the insignificance of life! It's just a living being! It takes less than an hour to reach the Qimeng Hall. The devout believers, with a straw mat and a quilt, sleep on the ground, looking forward to the guidance of the gods! It is said that if you ask for something here, it will be answered, and you will be told in your dreams! Continue to go up to the Zhuangyuan Pavilion! If you have the energy, you can still insist on going up! It is said that from above, you can look far and wide and see the night view of Fuqing. It's okay during the day! Beat the Zhuangyuan drum and wear a Zhuangyuan costume! Summary: Shizhu Mountain in Fuqing is full of mysterious colors! Not long ago, big stars: Yang Mi and Huang Xiaoming came here for a visit. It's worth a visit!

The idea was first proposed in 1992 and it was finally completed in 2013. It was not easy. I didn't expect so many people to donate to build it, and the amount was not small. This shows the importance of the bridge. It has shortened the distance between Pingtan Island and the mainland. It only takes one hour to reach the county from Changle Airport.

When visiting Fuzhou, a leisurely stroll through the Three Lanes and Seven Alleys is a must. Walking on the cool cobblestone streets, looking up at the staggered saddle-shaped walls, white walls and gray tiles, you'll see the quintessential old Fuzhou. No need to rush to see the must-see spots; just wander into any alley, and you'll find ancient houses and courtyards brimming with stories. The streets are bustling with the aroma of everyday life—meat dumplings, fish balls, and peanut soup fill the air—a truly blissful experience as you stroll and savor the delicious treats.

Ms. Zheng Liling gave an excellent explanation of the entire history of the Shipyard and the modern navy. She explained it very clearly, and the children listened attentively. It's a museum well worth visiting, especially since it wasn't crowded. However, the distance from the parking lot to the museum was quite far, and with the rain and the fear of being late, we bought tickets for the electric shuttle bus before we arrived. We were very grateful to Ms. Zheng for patiently waiting for us for a while.

At the mouth of the Minjiang River, in Mawei, lie the awakening marks of China's modern coastal defense. Entering the Shipyard Culture Scenic Area, one is immediately struck by the warship-shaped exterior of the Shipyard Culture Museum. Inside the five-story exhibition hall, models of the "Yangwu" warship and graduation papers from Shipyard students vividly recount the turbulent years since Zuo Zongtang founded the Shipyard in 1866. Turning a corner, the solemn atmosphere of the Mawei Naval Battle Memorial Hall, with its green-tiled roofs and upturned eaves, is palpable. Before the memorial tablets of 736 martyrs, yellowed battle reports evoke a sense of sorrow. Climbing the Luoxing Pagoda, the magnificent sight of thousands of sails racing on the Minjiang River comes into view. This "Chinese Pagoda" once guided countless ships. The overhead cranes of the old engine room still stand; in a trance, the roar of machinery and the sound of students reciting their lessons from a century ago seem to blend into the riverside breeze.

The 68-nautical-mile scenic area is well worth a visit. It's the closest point between mainland China and Taiwan. Be careful not to cross the yellow lines marked in the scenic area, as it can be dangerous. The staff are very responsible and will blow whistles to warn you if you cross the yellow lines. It's a great place for taking photos, and it's not too hot to walk around in the scenic area right now.

Gushan Mountain in Fuzhou is definitely worth a climb. The mountain forests are serene, and the cliff carvings are rich in cultural heritage. Climbing to the top offers panoramic views of the city and allows you to truly appreciate the mountain scenery of Fuzhou, a city blessed with good fortune. Moving on to Beibu Gulf in Pingtan, for dining, look no further than Beibu Gulf Xiaobailou. Their freshly caught seafood is incredibly sweet, and you can enjoy your meal on the terrace overlooking the sea. The owner is so friendly that he can even take you to see bioluminescent plankton. For accommodation, choose Shuangchuang Julu Youth Hostel. It's clean, comfortable, and has a strong travel atmosphere. It's very close to all the must-see spots along the northern route, making island travel super convenient. A one-stop recommendation for food and lodging along the northern route of Pingtan! ✨

This trip to Fujian was incredibly rewarding. First, I visited the Shangxiahang Historical and Cultural District, with its ancient brick houses, flowing water, and vibrant old Fuzhou atmosphere. Strolling along the ancient streets allowed me to experience the history of Fujian merchants, and the night view was particularly atmospheric – definitely worth exploring in detail. Afterwards, I went to Beibu Gulf in Pingtan to see the sea, and both the food and accommodation were surprisingly pleasantly surprising. For dining, I recommend Xiaobailou Seafood Restaurant, the only seafood restaurant in Beibu Gulf, run by three veterans – a reliable and trustworthy business. The seafood was fresh, authentic, and retains its original flavor. The owner was warm and attentive, not pushy with orders, and even offered helpful travel tips, making my seafood meal worry-free and enjoyable. After dinner, I checked into the Beibu Gulf Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cluster Youth Hostel. The location was excellent, the environment was clean and tidy, and the common areas had a great atmosphere. It was a great place to meet travel buddies from all over and exchange travel tips. The rooms were great value for money, and it was very convenient for getting around. From the charming old streets of Fuzhou to the stunning blue seascape of Pingtan, this itinerary offers a complete experience, including strolling through ancient streets, savoring fresh seafood, and staying in comfortable hostels. It's a highly recommended combination for any trip to Fujian.

Yantai Mountain boasts stunning scenery, brimming with historical and artistic charm; a stroll here is incredibly pleasant! A must-visit in Pingtan is the Seafood Xiaobailou (Little White House), where the seafood is incredibly fresh. The owner, Sister Xia, is exceptionally friendly, always calling us "baby," and even took us to see the bioluminescent plankton (blue tears) for free—the service was amazing! Staying at the Shuangchuang Julu Hostel was a great experience; the rooms were spacious, comfortable, and fully equipped, offering excellent value for money. The beautiful Beibu Gulf in Pingtan, with its stunning sea and windmills, is so soothing. Pingtan's food and sea views are both top-notch—I love it! #Pingtan #PingtanXiaobailou #Seafood #Food #Windmills #Sea
