Gold Coast beach

4.8/5
645 reviews
Gold Coast beach stretches for approx. 70 km, and its golden sand is a hallmark of this coastline, which is how it got the name Gold Coast. The sand is fine and glows with a warm golden luster in the sunlight, while the water transitions from a shallow turquoise near the shore to a deep blue in the distance, creating distinct layers. The beach features several distinct sections along its length, with a lively atmosphere in the north and a relatively quieter vibe in the south, catering to visitors with different preferences. Surfing is a signature, long-standing experience at this beach. The coastline boasts several famous surf breaks, including the Superbank near Snapper Rocks, which is known for producing long, hollow waves that attract a large number of surfers year-round. Surf lifesavers patrol the beach, and red and yellow flags mark safe swimming areas. A coastal walkway connects the various beach sections, making it a great way to explore by walking or cycling. The beach enjoys abundant sunshine and a mild climate year-round, with different sections catering to various needs.Surfers Paradise · 41.4km from Kerry

Springbrook National Park

Springbrook National Park is located in the mountain rainforests of the Gold Coast hinterland. The plateau, shaped by ancient volcanic activity, has been deeply carved by streams into layers of cliffs and canyons, creating a lush, green landscape. Most waterfalls and lookouts are accessible via short trails. The park consists of several areas, with the Springbrook Plateau and Natural Bridge being the most popular. Visitors can enjoy waterfalls and cliffs during the day, and see the starlike glowworms in the caves at night—each offering its own unique experience. Natural Bridge, Springbrook National Park, is the signature attraction here: years of erosion by stream water have hollowed out the mountain, and now the stream pours through a circular hole in the cave ceiling, weaving a curtain of water inside. A natural stone bridge remains where the cave roof collapsed. You can see the waterfall passing through the cave by following the approximately 1 km loop trail. After dark, the cave ceiling lights up with patches of blue-green glow—these are the bioluminescent larvae commonly known as glowworms. They are actually the larvae of a type of fungus gnat, and their cold tail light is used to lure prey. When gathered in large numbers, they look like a starry sky hanging overhead. They glow every night throughout the year, though their light is dimmer during the dry winter and spring seasons and exceptionally bright during the hot, humid, and rainy seasons. On humid summer nights, you might occasionally spot glowing mushrooms along the trail, and sometimes even fireflies. Please turn off flashlights and camera flashes when viewing, as direct bright light will cause the colony to "turn off" instantly. Please stay on the trail, and do not enter the water in the cave area. After walking out of the cave, don't forget to look up; the stars in the mountain night sky are equally moving. The plateau area is home to most of the lookouts and waterfalls: the Canyon Lookout is just a few steps from the road, offering a view of Twin Falls and Rainbow Falls as they tumble over the cliff edge into the deep valley. The ambitiously named Best of All Lookout requires a walk through a forest of ancient Antarctic beech trees that are thousands of years old; on a clear day, you can see Mount Warning in New South Wales in the distance. Purling Brook Falls, with a drop of nearly 100 m, is the park's iconic waterfall. The loop trail allows you to descend to the valley floor, where you can stand on a suspension bridge and look up at the entire water curtain, which is especially spectacular when the water volume is high after rain. The Twin Falls circuit allows you to walk directly behind the waterfall.Springbrook · 26.1km from Kerry

Remington National Park, located on the west side of Spring Springs National Park (Springbrook National Park), is a precious ecological base and a designated World Heritage Site. Most of the park is located on the 900-meter plateau. There are many scenic walks in the park, and you can see rich animal and plant landscapes and beautiful waterfalls along the way. 1. Walking trails In Remington National Park, there are very good walking trails. It is a hiker's paradise. Along the way, you can see steep canyons, magnificent waterfalls, and lush and dense subtropical rainforests. First of all, you have to walk O'Reilly's Treetop Walk, which is Australia's first treetop walk. It is actually a suspension bridge, about 15 meters above the ground. Because it is built in dense woods, it can be seen from the top. Can't see the ground. Walking on the suspension bridge, you will feel a little dizzy at first, but it will be fine after walking for a while. Walking along this treetop trail to the depths of the rainforest, you will appreciate the rare flowers of Australia and the ancient trees of thousands of years. In addition to feasting your eyes and gaining knowledge, you will even breathe green because you are full of negative ions! In addition, there are many popular walking trails: the GreatWalk trail to Springbrook Plateau, which is 54 kilometers long and takes 3 days to complete. The 21km BorderTrack trail follows the watershed between NSW and Queensland and connects Binna Burra with O'Reilly's Rainforest Lodge. 2. Beautiful scenery Like Springbrook National Park, it is also part of the World Heritage "East Coast Rainforest Reserve". There is a unique subtropical rainforest scenery here. Tourists can walk on the hiking trails known as the very best in Queensland and enjoy the scenery. The surrounding ancient trees, gurgling streams and spectacular waterfalls, listening to all kinds of birds singing in the forest, a variety of native Australian endangered birds live here, fully integrated into the beauty of nature.O'Reilly · 18km from Kerry

Surfers Paradise Beach is located on the Gold Coast of Australia. It is an important area of the Gold Coast. Known as "Miami of the Southern Hemisphere", it is a huge sandy coast. 1. Overview of attractions One of Australia's most famous beaches, attracting surfers from all over the world. The Gold Coast is close to the Pacific Ocean and has 75 kilometers of beaches. It is a huge sandy coast. The coastline here is straight and wide, the shoreline is very shallow, and the waves are very large, which is very suitable for various water sports such as surfing. Among them, the continuous beach is 42 kilometers long. There is a reef at the corner of the turning cliff. Layers of waves rush over from the reef cliff, surging forward, and the height is 2-3 meters. If the sea is stormy, the waves will roar. The turbulent waves are set off, and its splendid sight is amazing. 2. Leisure sports There are many entertainment facilities on the beach, so tourists will not be bored. The jet boat located in Apple Park is suitable for those who like to experience thrilling sports. The speed boat will depart from Surfers Paradise to WaveBreak Island every day, bringing the experiencer a 360-degree flip experience. The whole journey takes about 55 minutes. 3.7D cinema Have only heard of 3D cinema, but never heard of 7D? The 7D Cinema on Trickett Street is very popular with 10 scenes to choose from. 4. Shopping Tired of blue sky and white clouds, silver beach, you can also enjoy shopping. Not far from the promenade near the beach, shopping malls such as ParadiseCentre, HarbourTownOutletShoppingCenter and PacificFairShoppingCenter are gathered in the business district, which can be reached in a few minutes' walk. 5. Dining The restaurants here serve Australian local food, Indian food, Mexican food, Japanese food and Chinese food, and the rich choices will make you dazzled. If you like Italian food, you can go to Nicolinis Pizzeria, which serves delicious pizza, but remember to book in advance on Friday and weekend nights! One of the most charming places in Tianbaolin Mountain is the art trail, which is a 500-meter-long art trail decorated with quaint and beautiful handmade souvenir shops, cafes and dessert shops. Tianbaolin Mountain is 525 meters above sea level. It is a large mountain on the Gold Coast with lush greenery. The Tianbaolin Mountain National Park between the mountains is a national park in Queensland. Tempolin Mountain is only a 30-minute drive from Surfers Paradise. But the hinterland far from the Jinsha blue sea and the noisy crowd is another world. Compared to the seaside areas of the Gold Coast, the temperature here is a few degrees cooler and the culture is very different.Mount Tamborine · 24.5km from Kerry

Mount Coot-Tha Summit Lookout is located at the summit of Mount Coot-Tha, west of the Brisbane city center, at an elevation of over 200 m, and is a classic spot for overlooking the city. The name "Mount Coot-Tha" originates from the local Indigenous language and means "place of honey." In the early years, it was also called "One Tree Hill" because of a single tree left standing at the summit. Since it was designated as a public recreation area in the late 19th century, it has been a popular spot for Brisbane residents to relax and enjoy the view. The lookout offers expansive views, with the winding Brisbane River flowing through the city, and the city center skyline and Story Bridge in full view. On clear days, the view extends all the way to Moreton Bay, where islands such as Stradbroke Island are clearly visible. The evening is a particularly charming time here, as the sunset glow illuminates the city and the bay, and after dark, the lights of the high-rises gradually turn on, making it a romantic moment to enjoy the night view of Brisbane. The summit features a café and a souvenir shop, where you can take a break after sightseeing. A mountain road leads directly to the summit, where the distinctive Brisbane radio and television transmission towers are located. If you have enough time, the Brisbane Botanic Gardens and the planetarium at the foot of the mountain are also worth a visit.Mount Coot-Tha · 68.7km from Kerry

South Bank Parklands is located on the south bank of the Brisbane River, facing the city center across the river. It is a linear waterfront park stretching along the river, converted from the site of the 1988 World Expo. A major highlight here is that a beach has been brought directly into the city center. Streets Beach features an artificial beach and swimming pool. The white sand, blue water, and the skyline formed by office buildings on the opposite bank create a unique view, which is quite rare in an Australian city center. You can swim here when the weather is warm. The Grand Arbour in the park stretches for approx. 1 km, with steel frames covered in purple bougainvillea. It is a highly popular photo spot. The Rainforest Walk is hidden in the bustling city, lined with lush greenery. The Nepal Peace Pagoda is an original wooden pavilion left over from the World Expo. Its three-story structure was transported in its entirety from Nepal and is worth a special visit. Public barbecue grills are available on the lawns, and many locals bring ingredients for picnics. On weekends, Stanley Street Plaza often hosts markets, and you might encounter street performances at any time. The Wheel of Brisbane stands in the park, offering a bird's-eye view of the river and the city skyline. The riverside path is suitable for walking or cycling, and you can also take a water bus or cruise to enjoy the scenery on both banks from the river.South Brisbane · 69.5km from Kerry
