Okinawa memorial park is located by the sea in the northern part of Okinawa's main island. Built in August 1976 on the former site of the 1975 Okinawa international ocean exposition, the park carries the theme of "sun, flowers and ocean." The grounds are broadly divided into three zones: ocean, history & culture, and flowers & greenery, featuring an aquarium, dolphin shows, botanical gardens and beaches - perfect for a half-day visit. The ocean zone is particularly popular: Okinawa Churaumi aquarium, the park's flagship attraction, houses whale sharks and manta rays in its massive tank; the adjacent dolphin theater continues shows dating back to the exposition era; the manatee house hosts manatees gifted by the Mexican government, while the turtle house observes turtle growth and dolphin lagoon offers close-up dolphin viewing; emerald beach is an artificial coral sand beach within the lagoon, swimmable in summer. The history & culture zone's ocean culture museum displays hundreds of exhibits including large canoes, showcasing Okinawa's maritime connections with the South Pacific and Southeast Asia, along with an observatory; nearby Okinawa traditional village recreates a 17th-19th century Ryukyu kingdom settlement with red-tiled houses, elevated granaries and windbreak trees, accompanied by Soro botanical garden featuring over twenty local plants mentioned in ancient ballads. The flowers & greenery zone's tropical dream center maintains year-round orchid and tropical plant displays in greenhouses, while the tropical/subtropical urban greening garden and sunset plaza make worthy stops. The expansive park requires walking between zones, with electric carts available. While most visitors head straight for the aquarium, Okinawa traditional village offers a more relaxed pace with trilingual audio guides in historic houses and occasional sanshin performances, providing deeper immersion into Ryukyu's maritime heritage.Motobu · 4.5km from downtown

A must-see stop on any trip to Okinawa! The Churaumi Aquarium is even more breathtaking than I imagined. The most impressive feature is the enormous Kuroshio Current tank, where whale sharks and various marine creatures swim gently past – a truly soothing and visually stunning sight. Standing in front of the giant glass windows, you feel like you're actually in an underwater world, and you can easily spend a long time quietly observing. The overall experience is excellent, with indoor aquariums, outdoor dolphin shows, and other marine-related exhibits. It's perfect for families and nature and ocean lovers alike. If you're visiting Okinawa, I highly recommend setting aside half a day to explore this place at your own pace and truly experience it!

I love theme parks and this is new concept for me. The rain/weather only added thrill to the atmosphere. There were also few visitors during my visit so I was able to do all the attractions that I wanted to do. The food in Panaroma Dining is delicious. The spa was also very nice. It was a great way to end the day!

Cute little fake village where they have relocated old houses there. You can walk around and enjoy the architecture and learn Okinawa culture. There was a show too with a woman singing an Okinawa song and dancing. Not too much to do in the village however and it is a bit out the way. Better for a couple hours and if you have a car to get to it. Otherwise you could skip it without losing out on anything. The scenery is very calming though.

A special attraction in Okinawa. It is actually very small and I feel that I can walk around it in less than half an hour. I can see wild pineapples on the roadside. It feels quite fun. There is not much else to comment on. The sea is actually very blue~

Kouri Island is a circular island with a diameter of about 8 km floating in the north of Yagaji Island. Sea urchin and mozuku are the specialties of this island, which are well-known and the fishing industry is prosperous. There is the Okinawan version of the creation myth of Adam and Eve, and ancient sacrificial activities such as the Sea God Festival held after the Bon Festival in July of the old lunar calendar have been passed down.

The Kouri Ocean Tower is a great spot to visit in Okinawa. It offers fantastic views of the ocean and surrounding islands. The observation deck is a perfect place for taking photos and enjoying the scenery. It's a cool place to visit with family or friends. Plus, there's a nice cafe for a quick bite. Don't forget to check it out if you're in Okinawa!

When talking about the most beautiful sea areas in Japan, Okinawa has to be mentioned. The Blue Caves here are also one of the best attractions. Here you can not only enjoy this 35-meter wide and 6-meter deep cave by snorkeling or diving. In this blue dream world, you can see various creatures such as sea bream, goldfish and hedgehog shrimp living here. Every year during the peak season, tourists from all over the world come to experience it.

The Kouri Bridge is so beautiful under the clear sky. The white bridge is reflected on the blue bridge. Below is the white beach and the clear sea water. There are different depths of sea water on both sides of the bridge. If you drive by yourself, I highly recommend this attraction.

The ruins of present-day Guinin Castle in northern Okinawa, Japan, are one of the World Cultural Heritage Sites and a relatively well-preserved ruin. There are nine ruins in Okinawa (including Shuri Castle), commonly known as the "Heritage Complex of the Ryukyu Kingdom". Although only the ruins are visited now, without a single building, according to the scope of the stone city wall and foundation, it is difficult to imagine the scale of that time. At the right time, you can also see a little cherry blossoms, and because of the sea, you can overlook the beautiful sea view.
