The land was formerly a Benedictine monastery, and today it serves multiple functions as a historical exhibition hall, conference center, and high-end event venue, making it a classic landmark not to be missed on the lakeside sightseeing route. The villa was commissioned by entrepreneur Luigi Erba and designed by architects, with construction completed in 1903. The building features a Neo-Renaissance style, with a two-story main structure paired with a towering observation tower. The facade features elegant colonnades, and large floor-to-ceiling windows open toward the lake. The interior halls are beautifully decorated, preserving exquisite frescoes, carved ceilings, and vintage reliefs. The space is open and grand, having hosted numerous musicians and socialites in the past. This was also the childhood summer residence of master filmmaker Luchino Visconti, whose work was deeply influenced by the estate's scenery.
