Things to do in Lichuan

This is the largest dragon cave I've ever visited in China. I happened to catch the free Tujia ethnic minority performance "Yishui Lichuan" inside, which is definitely worth seeing. Tenglong Cave is a must-experience.

The experience is very good, but you need to rent a down jacket to enter the cave, otherwise you will catch a cold easily. I remind friends who are going to visit that it is best to bring their own jackets. The scenic area has beautiful scenery and there are song and dance performances.

Qiyue Mountain is a mountainous grassland in southern China, located in the west of Lichuan City, Hubei Province, bordering Chongqing Shizhu and Wanzhou to the west, only 30 kilometers away from Lichuan City, and National Highway 318 passes through the scenic area. The top of the mountain is basically flat, with seven unique hills, including Heidabao, Kanjindabao, Luojiadabao, Dengjiadabao, Wanjiadabao, Dabao, and Pengjiadabao, spreading out like seven stars, so the ancients also called it Qiyao Mountain, now known as Qiyue Mountain. Qiyue Mountain is like a towering wall stretching across the west sky, becoming a major barrier and military stronghold between Jingchu and Bashu in ancient times.

China's Grand Canyons are definitely worth visiting. If it weren't for the rain and fog, the scenery would be breathtaking. I went to both Qixingzhai and Yunlong Ground Fissure, and they were so beautiful! You absolutely must take the shuttle bus, elevator, and cable car 🚡, otherwise you'll be questioning your existence!

Sumadang: It is a mountain village under the jurisdiction of Moudao Town, Lichuan City, Enshi Prefecture, Hubei Province. It is a famous tourist resort and a national AAAA-level scenic spot. There are many high-rise buildings, holiday villas and homestays. Although Sumadang does not have famous landscapes, it is surrounded by continuous mountains and dense forests. It is quiet and natural with unique customs. Especially in summer, there is no scorching heat and the climate is cool. It is an excellent place for leisure, summer vacation and sightseeing.

The best scenic spot in Enshi is not only free, but also because of the rich and colorful scenery, which combines Qingjiang water, mountains, caves, grasslands, and primitive farming tribes. It is quite tiring to cross the whole journey, so it is recommended to take the essence section. From Longmen Inn, under the Love Valley, take a look at Dudu Village, then go to see the Yinhe Cave and the ancient riverbed first, then return by the original route, walk through Sanlongmen, Erlongmen, Dalongmen to the grassland, and return to Longmen Inn after seeing the Haohan Slope. This is enough for most of the day. Cross the whole journey, Jingzhao Villa, Black Hole, Village, Ancient Riverbed, Yinhe Cave, Dudu Village, Sanlongmen, Erlongmen, Dalongmen, Grassland, Haohan Slope, Bamboo Forest, Yixiantian, and come out of the village. Be sure to walk on a sunny day, bring knee pads, trekking poles, and outdoor hiking shoes. It takes about 8 hours. It is recommended to download the GPS route with 2 road apps and look at the colorful ribbon road signs on the road.

It is full of humanistic atmosphere and was once the manor of a large landowner named Li. The Li family's heritage and some ancient buildings are very interesting. The local people have a high opinion of this family and they are truly great philanthropists. However, many of the original buildings were destroyed during the Cultural Revolution.

It is said that in the past, when Tusi fought each other, the dangerous terrain of Yumu Village made it difficult for the enemy to attack for a long time. A few months later, Tusi Ma, who was guarding the village, threw a live fish to the tree in front of the tent of Tusi Tan who came to attack the village. Tusi Tan sighed: "To conquer this village is like looking for fish in a tree." From then on, Yumu Village got this name.

It's definitely worth a visit for those who enjoy hiking. The entire trip, including the cable car, takes about 7.5 hours, but you can walk and stop as you like without getting tired. The weather was great when we went, and it even drizzled at one point, creating a beautiful, misty effect. However, taking a boat ride would be even better!
