The Scottish Highlands encompass the majestic mountains and valleys of Great Britain. The region is sparsely populated, with vast stretches of wilderness maintaining a raw and desolate appearance. Ben Nevis, the highest peak in the British Isles, stands in the heart of the Highlands. Its summit is shrouded in mist year-round, and the weather is changeable, attracting many hikers to climb it. The Great Glen divides the Highlands into two, with the Grampian Mountains and the Northwest Highlands on either side, and the area is dotted with numerous lakes and valleys. Glen Coe is famous for its jagged peaks and wild, desolate moors, making it one of the iconic landscapes of the Highlands. Driving along the A82 road, you can see The Three Sisters rising abruptly. Loch Ness is hidden deep in the Great Glen, with the ruins of Urquhart Castle standing quietly on the shore. The Highlands also preserve Scottish Gaelic cultural traditions and whisky distilling techniques, and many distilleries along the route offer tastings of single malt whisky. Driving along wild roads, strolling along mountain trails, visiting ancient castles and lakes, or touring whisky distilleries are all popular local experiences.Fort Augustus · 36.3km from Loch Ness

Loch Ness is a British freshwater lake with a long and narrow shape with complex bottom topography and many caves. It is located in the cold Scottish Highlands but can not freeze all year round. The external waterway is the Ness River. This lake is well-known for the endless rumors of sightings of plesiosaur-like water monsters. There are even local tours with the theme of "finding the whereabouts of water monsters", but tourists should not come here with the mentality of seeing water monsters. Although no water monsters can be seen, the road by the lake on the west bank is part of the A82 road, known as the beautiful road in Scotland. There are Urquhart Castle and the water monster exhibition center on the lakeside. The main way to visit Loch Ness is to take a cruise ship. The cruise companies that tourists often choose are CruiseLochNess, Jacobite and so on. In addition, you can also go hiking, cycling, boating and other activities.Inverness · 7.9km from Loch Ness

Inverness Castle is situated on a cliff byLoch Ness. The earliest records of this castle date back to 1057, but it has been destroyed and rebuilt many times throughout history. The castle you see today is the version rebuilt in 1836. Viewed from the opposite bank, its brick-red exterior is striking. As you climb the cliff where the castle stands, you'll find that while it isn't very high, it's practically the highest point in the city, offering fantastic views of Inverness.Inverness · 13km from Loch Ness

The Grieg Street Bridge is located next to the Old Town Church. It spans the River Ness and connects both sides of Inverness. It is the main traffic artery of this small town. The bridge is very narrow, only pedestrians are allowed to pass, and there will be slight shaking when walking. Standing on the bridge and enjoying the scenery on both sides of the River Ness always makes people feel comfortable.Inverness · 13.1km from Loch Ness

I traveled to the Scottish Highlands for the first time in early January. I saw that the souvenirs from the same tour had the appearance of this cow, so I searched where I could see the real thing! This highland cow is really cute The long hair covers both eyes, Taiwanese also call it "Jay Cow" 😂😂

It's the highest point in the city, offering partial views of the River Ness. Tickets are required for the interior, but not for the outer perimeter.

I didn’t see the beauty of the Grieg Street Bridge. The buildings on both sides of the strait were actually very scenic. I hurried back to my hotel before dark. I only walked on one side and took photos of two spire buildings. They seemed to be foreign and I couldn’t help it. It’s a pity to visit. I don’t know when I will visit again next time~

This river is just upstream of Loch Ness and runs through the whole town. The scenery here is beautiful and the scenery of the small bank is very good.
