The town of Luss is located to the west of Loch Lomond. Because it is in the shade of the mountains, it has less sunshine. Due to the terrain, it has more rainfall, so it is also called the "Black Village". The town was originally surrounded by a quarry. Now you can see the slate cottages decorated with flowers. They were the residences of the old workers and have a history of a hundred years. Visitors can follow the hiking route of the quarry ruins to admire the workplace of the former quarry workers.Luss · 205m from downtown

The Kelvin Grove Art Museum is located opposite the main campus of the University of Glasgow. It is the most visited museum in the UK except the British Museum. The museum was one of the main buildings of the Glasgow World's Fair in 1901. It adopts the Spanish Baroque style and uses the red sandstone commonly used in Glasgow for the outer walls. Exhibits in the museum detail Scottish history and culture, as well as a large collection of nature and European art. The treasure of the town hall is Salvador Dali's masterpiece "Christ of Saint John of the Cross".Glasgow · 33.7km from Luss

Glasgow Cathedral

The construction of the Glasgow Cathedral was completed after more than 300 years. After that, it escaped the ravages of the religious revolution several times and has been preserved to this day. The churches that can be seen now are damaged to varying degrees everywhere, and the severely damaged West Tower is even more beautiful. You can clearly see the ruins of the year. The church is divided into two parts by a stone altar screen. Seven pairs of stone statues are scattered around the screen, symbolizing the "seven deadly sins" in the Catholic doctrine, which is quite interesting. According to legend, at the end of the 6th century, St. Mungo, the patron saint of Glasgow, established and named Glasgow here, and also made Glasgow Cathedral a historical witness of the city. The structure of the church is thin and towering, and the overall color is extremely dignified. In addition, it is located in the surrounding quiet green space and tombstones, which adds a sense of solemnity, as if it is telling the history of Glasgow with its own scars. The St.Mungo Museum on the side of the church is built to commemorate St.Mungo, the patron saint of Glasgow. As a Catholic saint, Mungo is said to have shown four miracles to the world: birds that can't fly, can't grow Tall trees, bells that don't ring, fish that don't swim, all mysteries will be solved in this museum. In addition to the Catholic life and art collections, the collection displays Hindu statues of Shiva, Zen Buddhism and courtyards that are worth viewing.Glasgow · 36.5km from Luss

Scottish Highlands

The Scottish Highlands encompass the majestic mountains and valleys of Great Britain. The region is sparsely populated, with vast stretches of wilderness maintaining a raw and desolate appearance. Ben Nevis, the highest peak in the British Isles, stands in the heart of the Highlands. Its summit is shrouded in mist year-round, and the weather is changeable, attracting many hikers to climb it. The Great Glen divides the Highlands into two, with the Grampian Mountains and the Northwest Highlands on either side, and the area is dotted with numerous lakes and valleys. Glen Coe is famous for its jagged peaks and wild, desolate moors, making it one of the iconic landscapes of the Highlands. Driving along the A82 road, you can see The Three Sisters rising abruptly. Loch Ness is hidden deep in the Great Glen, with the ruins of Urquhart Castle standing quietly on the shore. The Highlands also preserve Scottish Gaelic cultural traditions and whisky distilling techniques, and many distilleries along the route offer tastings of single malt whisky. Driving along wild roads, strolling along mountain trails, visiting ancient castles and lakes, or touring whisky distilleries are all popular local experiences.United Kingdom · Fort Augustus

Calton Hill

Calton Hill is a high vantage point overlooking the entire city of Edinburgh, dotted with several neoclassical memorial buildings. Take a walk along the summit trail, and from the top, looking west, you can take in the entire cityscape, with the magnificent Edinburgh Castle standing in the distance, the vast waters of the Firth of Forth visible to the north, and buildings such as the Scottish Parliament Building and the Palace of Holyroodhouse to the south. A prominent feature on the summit is the National Monument of Scotland, built to commemorate those who died in the Napoleonic Wars. It was left unfinished due to a lack of funds, and today only a row of massive columns supporting a beam remains. The nearby Nelson Monument was built in the early 19th century and features a time ball on top, which drops promptly every afternoon. It was originally a signaling device set up to calibrate time for ships in the Port of Leith. Not far away is the Dugald Stewart Monument, with several stone columns supporting a circular dome. Its elegant design makes it a classic foreground for photographing the Edinburgh skyline.Edinburgh · 92km from Luss

Luss is located on the shore of Loch Lomond. It is an extremely quiet and beautiful village. The town is not big, with only about twenty households. But each cottage has a unique color and courtyard, and the outside of the house is carefully decorated with colorful flowers.

Glasgow Cathedral is one of Scotland’s most remarkable historic landmarks and a masterpiece of medieval architecture. The cathedral’s impressive Gothic design, stunning stained-glass windows, and peaceful atmosphere make it a fascinating place to explore. Walking through its ancient halls offers a glimpse into centuries of Scottish history and religious heritage. I was particularly impressed by the intricate stonework and the beautiful crypt beneath the cathedral. Located near the city center, it provides a quiet contrast to Glasgow’s vibrant urban life. Whether you are interested in history, architecture, or culture, Glasgow Cathedral is a must-visit attraction in Scotland.

Windermere is such a beautiful place to visit, surrounded by peaceful scenery and incredible views. Walking near the lake was especially relaxing, and there are plenty of lovely spots to stop and enjoy the landscape. I’d recommend taking a boat trip if you have time, as it gives you a completely different view of the area. A wonderful destination for a relaxing day in the Lake District. 🌿⛵🏞️

I traveled to the Scottish Highlands for the first time in early January. I saw that the souvenirs from the same tour had the appearance of this cow, so I searched where I could see the real thing! This highland cow is really cute The long hair covers both eyes, Taiwanese also call it "Jay Cow" 😂😂

visited (my oldest grandson who is 6 and myself) on a Saturday. The museum is fairly well sign-posted and there is plenty of on-site parking. The car park was about half full so the museum was busy. Parking is £1.60 per hour but entry to the museum (and the adjacent Tall Ship) is free.Mask- wearing is compulsory though compliance was patchy. About 20% didn’t bother at all which is poor is an indoor environment with lots of kids.
