This is Tumushuke City, a rising star city in Kashgar area in southern Xinjiang.
After returning from northern Xinjiang, I originally planned to go to the ancient city of Kashgar and Taxkorgan. But due to the epidemic, many places were closed. So I simply returned to my hometown, Tumushuke City.
Tumushuke City has the famous Tangwang City ruins. It is said that the northern part of Tumushuke City belonged to the ancient Western Region Weitou Kingdom in ancient times. It was first discovered by a French adventurer in the early twentieth century, and a large number of cultural relics were brought back to France. Today, there are only some ruins with sparse vegetation in Weitou Kingdom, and there will be opportunities to explore them in depth later.
This is Yong'an Reservoir, in the southwest of Tumushuke City. Driving from Tumushuke City to the south reservoir, there is a desert highway with grassland lakes on one side and Gobi sand beaches on the other. The sunset is very beautiful.
