Statue of Liberty

The Statue of Liberty stands on Liberty Island in New York Harbor, officially named "Liberty Enlightening the World." It was a gift from the people of France to the United States, created to commemorate American independence and completed in 1886. Designed by French sculptor Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, its internal steel framework was crafted by Gustave Eiffel, the designer of the Eiffel Tower. She holds a torch aloft in her right hand and a tablet inscribed with "July 4, 1776" in her left, with broken chains at her feet. The seven spikes on her crown symbolize the seven continents and seven seas, while the theme of breaking free from*********and embracing liberty is woven into every detail. Reaching the crown is the signature experience here: ascend via the narrow double-helix staircase inside the statue to overlook New York Harbor and the Manhattan skyline from the crown's observation windows. Crown access has limited availability and requires advance reservations. The staircase is steep and narrow with no elevator, so travelers with acrophobia or limited physical stamina should assess their capabilities. Opting for the pedestal observatory still allows close-up views of the statue and panoramic harbor vistas. The original torch replaced in 1984 is now displayed at the Statue of Liberty Museum on the island, which opened in 2019, fully presenting the statue's construction history and symbolic significance. The adjacent Ellis Island Immigration Museum recounts the stories of millions of immigrants who entered the U.S. here to begin new lives, often combined with a visit to Liberty Island. △Statue of LibertyCrown visit: one of the must-do experiences is climbing up to the statue's crown. Travelers can access the crown via a narrow spiral staircase and enjoy the magnificent views of the city skyline. △: Closely connected, the visit is a fascinating experience. This museum tells the story of millions of immigrants who passed through to start new lives in the United States. △Statue of LibertyPedestal access: Travelers can also enter the pedestal to observe the statue and its intricate details up close. The pedestal also houses a museum showcasing the history and significance of the statue.New York · 11.9km from Newark

Going later in the afternoon allows you to see the sunset from daytime, offering a completely different experience compared to the nighttime view! There are both indoor and outdoor viewing platforms, making for an amazing experience! The video was played in the elevator.

We are not “museum people” but we enjoyed our time at Moma! A lot to see and some interesting pieces. Loved the 4th floor!

Perhaps because the summer holidays are over, there were no lines. It was very convenient to scan the code to enter. The Metropolitan Museum of Art is very large, so you can stroll around at your own pace. If you get tired, there are places to grab a drink or a snack. The US is a large country, not crowded. Even in very lively areas, there are plenty of places to rest, which is very thoughtful.

Of all the view points of NYC, the most unique I have to say. My daughter really liked the interactive activities available at the observation deck. You can get good view of the Mid Town and unbelievable view of the Empire State Building from the top. Ticket might be a bit pricey, but hey, it’s New York. So you have to understand. Overall I would say definitely a worth it to experience.

Rockefeller Center is one of those iconic New York places that’s worth seeing in person. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and walking around the surrounding area. The architecture is impressive, and there’s plenty to see nearby. If you have time, going up to Top of the Rock is a great addition for beautiful views of the Manhattan skyline and Central Park. 🏙️✨🗽

The cruise experience was great. It departs from the New Jersey pier and is very quiet, but be aware that the last cruise departs at 4 PM each day. You can get a close-up view of the Statue of Liberty, making it a wonderful experience.

One of New York's five best observation decks, a must-visit. Rockefeller Center is quite good; you can see the Empire State Building, but you can't actually see yourself from the Empire State Building. The weather was great that day, truly wonderful.

Located on the 100th floor of the 30 Hudson Yards building, it offers a unique perspective of the Manhattan skyline. Higher than other observation decks, the platform extends outwards, and the glass railings are tilted outwards at a 6.6° angle, making people feel as if they are suspended above the city when they are close to the glass.

It's definitely worth a visit, and you absolutely must rent an audio guide. Coming here evoked the same feelings and emotions as visiting the Nanjing Massacre Memorial Hall—a heavy, sorrowful feeling. So many historical memories are preserved here; it's heartbreaking. You absolutely have to experience it for yourself.
