Phnom Penh Night Market

110 reviews
This night market is located by the Tonle Sap River. It is mainly engaged in daily necessities and tourist souvenirs. There are many local people. It is a good place to spend time at night. The night market was rebuilt from a street garden. The original grass was changed to a cement tile floor, with an area of about 4,000 to 5,000 square meters, surrounded by iron pipe railings. There are two openings along the street, one goes in and the other goes out, and the entry and exit are fairly orderly. There are multiple rows of colored commercial sheds of uniform specifications, and there are a wide variety of commodities. There are clothing, shoes and hats, flowers, food, hand accessories, cosmetics, daily necessities, as well as a large number of stone carvings, bamboo and wood products, and Buddha statues with Khmer characteristics. Probably more popular with locals than foreigners. Foreign tourists come here to shop and remember to bargain hard, because the price is always raised.Phnom Penh · 2km from downtown

Tonle Sap River

Located in the heart of Cambodia, the Tonle Sap River meets the Mekong River and is the passage between the Tonle Sap Lake and the Mekong River. At the same time, it is also the fourth largest source of freshwater fish in the world. There are more than 150 kinds of fish in the river, and the freshwater resources are very rich. The main reason for the abundance of freshwater resources is due to the unique phenomenon that the Tonle Sap River can "reverse the flow". In the rainy season from June to September every year, due to the melting of snow in the Himalayas, the water level of the Mekong River suddenly increases, causing water to flow into the Tonle Sap River from the Mekong River, reversing the flow of the Tonle Sap River; from October to May the following year , the river flows back to the Mekong River. Around the Tonle Sap River, there are famous scenic spots such as the Royal Palace of Phnom Penh and the National Museum. The scenery is beautiful, and it is very pleasant to walk or rest by the river. There are also various cafes, restaurants and bars on the banks of the river and north of the Royal Palace, where you can immerse yourself in a romantic colonial-style restaurant and enjoy a delicious Western-style meal. An exotic place to go.Phnom Penh · 10.9km from downtown

Unalong Temple is a very old temple in Phnom Penh, with a large-scale pagoda in Phnom Penh. "Unalong" means "sacred eyebrows", and it is said that there is an eminent monk's eyebrows hidden in the pagoda. Now it is the headquarters of a Cambodian Buddhist organization, and you can see the life scenes of monks reading and discussing. The pagoda enshrines the relics of the Buddha who were brought back from Ceylon in 1890. Therefore, many dignitaries like to build ashes pagodas in the temple, so that the ashes of the ancestors can be stored beside the Buddha, gradually forming a pagoda group.Phnom Penh · 1.7km from downtown

The top of the mountain is dedicated to the image of Mrs. "Ben" (that is, the English word penh in Phnom Penh), which is one of the symbols of Phnom Penh. Standing on the tower hill, you can overlook the whole city of Phnom Penh. Legend of Tashan: According to legend, in the 14th century, a woman named "Ben" picked up a Buddha statue that had drifted down the Mekong River due to flooding, built it on a hill, built a temple to worship it, and gradually developed into a prosperous town. In the 15th century, the capital of the country was moved from Angkor to this place, and it was officially named "Bai Nang Ben", which means "the mountain of the lady", and the local overseas Chinese called it "Phnom Penh".Phnom Penh · 2km from downtown

Koh Rong Island is located in the Gulf of Thailand to the southwest of Sihanoukville. It takes about 2 hours to arrive by boat from Sihanoukville. Choose to live on the island for a week, lie in a hammock by the sea, chat with the locals with gestures without a word, and try a life of isolation. There are also many European and American reality shows that have been filmed here, making it an ideal vacation choice. Koh Rong Island is rich in landforms, with mountains, hills and forests, which also contain seasonal waterfalls and streams. Since it has not yet been fully developed, it has become a paradise for marine life. It is a good choice for diving and snorkeling. At night, you can also see glittering plankton. In addition, there are more than 20 beaches along the coast of Koh Rong Island. SokSanBeach is a beach on the island. The coastline is long, the sand is fine, and the sea water is clear.Cambodia · Sihanoukville

Siem Reap's Pub Street is located next to the bustling old downtown. This street has dozens of different bars, pubs and clubs, many of which are popular with tourists. The bars here are quite unlike traditional pubs and clubs, in that many of them also serve full meals. During daylight hours you can enjoy authentic Southeast Asian cuisine at the restaurants which line the street and, once night falls, you can relax with a drink at the bar while you experience Siem Reap's unique nightlife. Furthermore, many of the bars and restaurants on Pub Street also sell English-language books, postcards, souvenirs and handicrafts.Cambodia · Siem Reap

I’ve been to Mekong River through Vietnam once. But this time, Mekong River is connected to Tonle Sap which it makes a wonderful experience. I’ve always wanted to go to Tonle Sap because I learnt about their history way back then in secondary school. The tour boat costs 100USdollar for the whole boat! There are only 6 of us there. If you want to try experiencing Tonle Sap, you can try Sok Chamroeun Tour Boat. Highly recommended!
