Among the lakeside highlights, the "Ten Scenes of West Lake" handed down from the Southern Song dynasty rank first, and together with the later "New Ten Scenes of West Lake" and the "Three Reviews of the Ten Scenes of West Lake," over a hundred attractions spread out along the lake shore and the surrounding mountains, with pavilions, terraces, temples, and pagodas, gardens, causeways, and islands setting off one another against the distant mountains and nearby waters; the legend of the Broken Bridge, where Bai Niangzi and Xu Xian met, adds a touch of story to the lake and hills. There is no need to insist on visiting every spot; simply choosing a stretch of shoreline and wandering slowly is pleasant enough. You can explore West Lake on foot, by cycling, by the sightseeing electric shuttle that circles the lake, or by boat. Hubin Road to Nanshan Road along the southeast shore is another area with a dense concentration of attractions. Hubin Road sits at the junction of the urban area and the scenic area, right next to the downtown commercial district, making it suitable for a short stop for travelers on a tight itinerary; by the lake there is also the iconic musical fountain and a cruise pier. From Hubin Road heading south along Nanshan Road, Orioles Singing in the Willows, the Long Bridge, Leifeng Pagoda, and Evening Bell at Nanping Hill line up one after another, and further west is Viewing Fish at Flower Harbor. The distances between adjacent attractions are convenient to cover on foot or by sightseeing bus, and you can choose a few to visit according to your preferences. It was quite fun; the scenic area is very large. We brought the adults and children together, entering from the South Gate, taking the elevator, a boat ride, a sightseeing bus, and then to the Fifth Sluice. The scenery along the way was beautiful, and the walk wasn't too tiring. It's perfect for a family trip; we even saw swings for kids along the way. The Fifth Sluice was a little smaller than I expected, haha. We didn't climb the four upper sluices because they require going uphill, but overall the scenery was still very beautiful and worth a special trip.

The light and shadow transformed the entire river into a stage, with layers of water curtains, boat shadows, and lights creating a stunningly beautiful and impactful experience. The story, from washing silk to entering Wu and finally returning to the river, unfolded with a rhythmic and captivating pace. It wasn't just about showcasing technical skills; it told Xi Shi's fate in a way that left a deep impression. When visiting Zhuji, this night tour is definitely worth setting aside an evening for.

My second visit to West Lake was great; the boat tour was excellent. The dock was easy to find, the staff were very friendly, provided clear explanations, and helped with any issues. There were also sightseeing buses, which were nice but a bit pricey. Taking the boat tour and then walking around was both perfectly fine.

Xishi Temple is located on the east bank of the Xishi Hometown Scenic Area in Zhuji, right next to the Huanjiang River. For 80 yuan, you can visit the five major attractions along the river, including Xishi Temple, which is quite cost-effective.

If you prefer a quiet environment with few people, and are interested in calligraphy and can appreciate the works, I highly recommend this place. The entire scenic area is very quiet. I went on a weekday morning, and it wasn't crowded, so you can look at the calligraphy and carefully read its content. A quick tour of the area shouldn't take too much time.

A rain shower brought a rare moment of clarity to the bustling scenic area; a guided tour brought life to the ordinary scenery; today we were very fortunate to have our guide, Ms. Xu, lead us on a tour of Lu Xun's former residence. Her explanations were clear and logical, and her voice was gentle and soothing. The entire journey, accompanied by intermittent rain, was truly a wonderful experience.
