Shenhai Well is located at the foot of Ruanjiaba Mountain in Da'an District, Zigong City. It is a 'living fossil' of traditional salt production and a symbol of the maturity of ancient Chinese drilling techniques. Shenhai Well was excavated in the third year of the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty. Anyone who sees it will be profoundly impressed; it is over 1,000 meters deep, showcasing the boundless wisdom of the ancient people.  In the scenic area, masters use traditional methods to boil salt and carry salt, which gives visitors a feeling of stepping back in time. The scenic area is quite large, and if you only take a quick look, you might not gain a deep understanding. If possible, it is recommended to hire a guide, as you can learn a lot about salt and the history of the local salt industry.Zigong · 4.1km from downtown

The Giant Buddha is situated in the halfway up the hill in the suburb of Rong County, Sichuan Province. It is the second largest stone carving Buddha in China, following the Maitreya Buddha in Leshan. There are two arhats leaning against a fairy peach with one crossing his arms in front of the chest leisurely, while the other one faces the peach without emotion seemingly. These statues show their otherworldly appearance, remaining unmoved by fame and wealth. The layout of these statues is rarely seen in China, and deserves research and study. They have been included in Chinese Art Work Collection - Grotto Sculptures of Sichuan.Rong County · 1.6km from downtown

The ancient town of Xianshi is nestled on the banks of the Fuxi River. This thousand-year-old ancient town has experienced countless ups and downs and still retains its charm. This is not a popular tourist town, and there is almost no commercial atmosphere here. You can feel the quaint and quiet atmosphere of the original ancient town. When you visit the ancient town of Xianshi, you don't have to walk around and watch the flowers. The ancient town is full of leisure and tranquility, and you can visit slowly. The streets are lined with many buildings of Qing Dynasty, which are unique in style. Take pictures of these buildings with a camera, and you can draw pictures of humanistic architectural landscapes. There are many Buddhist temples in the town, there are many statues of Buddha statues, incense is lingering all year round, and the bells of ancient temples echo the ancient town. It is a good choice to burn incense and worship Buddha in the temple for peace.Zigong · 9.9km from downtown

95 reviews
Fushun Confucian Temple is located in the center of Fushun County, Sichuan Province. It is a well-preserved, large-scale and beautifully built Song Dynasty building in China. Among all the Confucian temples in Sichuan Province, Fushun Confucian Temple is unique for its architectural scale, well-preserved, and unique architecture and carving art. Fushun Confucian Temple has "five unique features". First, the Lingxing Gate is composed of three groups of stone archways, and the middle group of stone pillars is 22.65 meters high, which is rare in Confucian temples everywhere. Second, the Dacheng Hall covers an area of 532 square meters, with 50 large columns in total, and the hall is 30 meters high. The entire beams and eaves are exquisitely carved with dragons, phoenixes, unicorns, lions, insects, fish, flowers and birds. Third, the stone statue of Confucius is unique. This statue is not wearing a crown, the lines are simple and clear, the clothes are elegant and natural, and the image is lifelike. It is a rare treasure. Fourth, it is the world of dragons. There are more than 300 carved dragons of various sizes in the Confucian Temple, including a giant dragon floating more than 20 meters in the sky, nine dragons winding on the "Zhuangyuan Bridge" in Panchi, and a flying dragon on the roof of the Dacheng Hall. Fifth, the "mystery" of the naked male pottery figure on the Chongsheng Temple. When the roof of the Chongsheng Shrine of Fushun Confucian Temple was being renovated in 1986, a bronze naked male pottery statue was discovered in the three-story glazed pavilion-shaped tripod on the main ridge. The statue is 25 cm tall and 10 cm wide at the shoulders. His right hand is raised above his head, while his left hand hangs naturally, with clear facial features.Fushun · 2.8km from downtown

The Huanhou Temple was first built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, burned down at the end of the Xianfeng period, and rebuilt during the Tongzhi period. The Huanhou Temple is built on the street and on the edge of a small hill, so people have to climb the hill to look up. In addition, the image of Zhang Fei engraved on the door panel, with angry hair and frowning eyebrows, looks heroic and awe-inspiring.Zigong · 1.5km from downtown

It's very suitable for younger children; it's quite large, and we didn't get to see all the attractions because our kids were too young. The only downside was the food – it was terrible. A simple cone ice cream cost 16 yuan (and was extremely sweet). Personally, I didn't think it was a good place to eat; the other attractions were fine.

A very worthwhile attraction to visit, and we even hired a guide; unfortunately, we couldn't see the brine extraction process, and seeing it separately would cost an extra 200 yuan, so we could only watch it via video; the current policies for seniors and children at tourist attractions are really thoughtful, as they are all free of charge.

I heard that the Zigong lanterns are different every year, attracting tourists from all over the country and the world. This year was my first time to visit Zigong in Sichuan. It was really unique. The bundled lights, colored lights, and a series of lights were really first-class, better than any other light show I have been to.

The environment is very tranquil, and besides the Buddha itself, there are many other scenic spots to see. It's a quaint and peaceful place. The Buddha itself is also very beautiful, but it lacks detailed explanations.

1. Xianshi Ancient Town was built in the Sui Dynasty and has a history of more than 1,400 years. It is located on the banks of the Fuxi River in the northern part of Yantan District, Zigong City, Sichuan Province. It was once an important salt transport port in ancient times. Many Qing Dynasty buildings are preserved here. The ancient buildings and bells of ancient temples lined up on the streets make the whole ancient town full of historical weight. 2. There are four streets, five stacks, five temples, one ancestral hall, three docks, one carp and three archways, nine monuments and ten lands in the ancient town. These buildings not only reflect the perfect combination of architectural design and style of ancient towns in my country, but also are specimens of the customs and customs of the town in southern Sichuan. 3. Xianshi Ancient Town has not had too much commercial development, retaining its original living conditions, and residents still maintain their traditional lifestyles. The food here is also very distinctive, and tofu rice is a local delicacy. 4. Visitors can feel a leisurely and peaceful atmosphere here. There is no need to rush to visit, and they can slowly savor the charm of the ancient town. Due to the low degree of commercialization, tourists can enjoy a more peaceful experience here. 5. Although it is about 10 kilometers from downtown Zigong, the road conditions may be poor and it takes about 40 minutes to drive there [^2^]. However, once you arrive, you will find that this ancient town is unique and worth a visit.

Parking is convenient at the Maojiaba boarding point for the night cruise on the Fuxi River, with ample underground parking spaces, and it's a short walk to the pier. The night view is atmospheric and the river scenery is delightful, making for a very pleasant experience overall.

It's definitely worth a visit; the scattered gates and the bridge are both excellent. The yellow glazed tiles exude grandeur. Next to it is the reconstructed county government office, which can be visited together. There's a door at the back that leads out...

The central horizontal plaque reads "Huanhou Palace," and it is the only butcher guild hall in Zigong City. The mountain gate is adorned with stucco, stone carvings, and layered polychrome decorations. The most distinctive features are the "Immortals Offering Longevity" stone carving, the wood carvings on the inner walls of the courtyard, the lattice windows of the west wing, and the camel-hump-shaped roof of the main hall's front corridor. The palace itself is a courtyard house, originally built during the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty. Located at the intersection of Zhonghua Road, the architecture is exquisite and ingenious. Utilizing the terrain's elevation difference, with a 14.16-meter height difference between the front and back, it creates a visually inverted sense of height.
