3 Stars Hotels in Styria, Austria

There is some construction work in the area so if you are walking from Graz Hbf it is a bit roundabout to get there but it is close by at about 5 minutes. Comfortable yes and totally adequate but if I could have given a rating of 3.5 I would have. Just not really a place I liked but equally cannot be too critical as that would be unfair.

Stayed here for one night in April 2023 and thought it was fine. There is still reconstruction work going on on floor 1 but we didn't hear it. Did I hear it on the weekend? No. The junior suite was absolutely fine with a little balcony and a table outside. I am surprised this hotel doesn't have better reviews on here. POSITIVES: The room was very nice, bed was comfy and staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent too. It is about 5 minutes to walk to the number 6 tram at the Friedhof St. Peter (Cemetery) stop from Moserhofgasse - this gets you into the city very quickly. NEGATIVES: There are only 5 very minor negatives about the stay here, which is the reason it only gets 4 out of 5. 1. Parking charges - you are nowhere near the middle of Graz but they would like you to park in their garage at a cost. Alternatively they offer you green zone parking on the street outside which is free, but only at the weekend. Why on earth they cannot come to some deal with the the BILLA supermarket next door is beyond me, as BILLA car parks are never full up. 2. The pillows were stupidly squashy and there were no spares/extra pillows in the room. 3. We were not offered a Wifi password when we arrived and used BILLA free wifi next door instead. 4. No spoons in the room. Granted they have a very nice Nespresso coffee machine and capsules but no spoons or stirrers for the coffee. The advert stated the room had a fridge - it didn't. 5. The HOTEL TV is a nuisance as the remote didn't work, neither did the HDMI socket. Why hotels switch off HDMI sockets on TVs is ridiculous - this is 2023 and we can bring our own devices, watch what we want on them and be able to plug them into the TV in the hotel. They need to fix this and regularly check their remote controls. If you are stuck for something to do on a Sunday, the Grazer Trödlermarkt (Fleamarket) is within walking distance of this hotel and although you probably won't buy anything, it is a real trip down memory lane looking at all the old junk that they have for sale there.

The hotel looks new. Designed in minimalist way, cutting down costs while serving the essentials. A hostel, effectively. Located over 15 minutes away by car from the city centre, the hotel offers free carpark to attract residents. Public transport is less reliable. Breakfast is cheap (€10.5), choice is understandably little. In short, it is quiet, clean and simple.

While Graz may not be on everyone’s list, it’s a convenient stopover for anyone headed to Vienna from former Yugoslav territories. Great location in the center of the old town, with easy parking nearby, spacious, clean and charming rooms, a knowledgeable and helpful staff. Breakfast is available and no need to preorder.

Das 'Self-Check-In' funktioniert absolut nicht. Wir haben telefonisch vorreserviert - Suite für 3 Personen. Da bekommt man zwar einen Code, der aber an der Hauseingangstür nicht funktioniert. wie man wirklich ins Haus reinkommt, haben wir noch nicht rausgefunden. Wir mussten jedenfalls die Notfallnummer anrufen. Das hat zwar dann gleich geklappt, aber ein paar Stunden später stand ein Litauisches Paar vor der Haustür und kam auch nicht rein. die hatten über Booking gebucht und konnten dann auch nur mit der Notfallnummer einchecken. also 'Self-help' geht da gar nix. wenn man für drei personen bucht, erwartet man dann aber eigentlich schon, dass es drei Betten gibt. es gab eine Couch, die wir selber beziehen mussten. ok das Bettzeug war wenigstens auffindbar. aber es gab nicht für alle drei Gäste ein Badetuch. eine von uns musste sich mit dem kleinen Handtuch zufrieden geben...........das wäre aber schon auch noch drin, finde ich. Frühstück war zufriedenstellend, für den Preis war es ganz ok. wenn man die anderen Bewertungen liest, glaubt man, dass es noch einen Gasthof gibt, ist aber nicht so...........weit und breit kein Mensch zu finden und ein Glaskühlschrank zur Dosen-bier-Selbstbedienung. war meine erste und glaub ich letzte 'Self-check-in' erfahrung, das spar ich mir in Zukunft.

The hotel was very modern and very urban, with clean interiors, hot colors, friendly staff. I arrived very early in the morning and they gave me a room without overpriced. A bar with a wide selection of gin from all countries where this hotel chain is present is located at the reception. My room was very busy, but the windows were very isolated and it was almost nothing to feel. Excellent quality-price ratio (I paid EUR 120). The only neo: the room was quite small. But still big enough

Pleasent surprise! We stayed there for two nights and everything was taken care of. We mentioned that we have 2 toddlers and the rooms were well prepared for it. The whole room was spotless and clean as well as the bathroom. Our beds were clean and it felt so good to sleep in it. Breakfast was excellent and we had everything we wished for. The personnel is very friendly and accommodating. If we ever visit Graz again, this is the place we want to stay in. We can only recommend it. Best regards!

On the other hand, there is only one ”computer check-in” like McDonald's. That's all worked; but wee with the room is something ”not okay”. Then no one is there; not even on the phone. The business hours of the hotline correspond to normal office times. It's just AB. In our case we had allocated room 101. There was a huge drinking machine on the wall right in front of the room, on the other side, the end of our bed was. You sleep almost - separated by a Rigips wall - right behind a refrigerator. Windows could not be opened either because you would otherwise hear the street noise in this room. Fairly, you must say that the room was clean, therefore also 2 stars instead of one. But for 116 Euros a night too expensive, because small and without breakfast. Unfortunately, here is also written the customer service ”small”. My email has not been responded. We are still check-out in the middle of the night and have moved to another hotel. 230 euros were, of course, for the tonne.
