Samesun Montreal is hands-down my go-to hostel in the city. Every stay has been consistently great — welcoming staff, a fun atmosphere, and a layout that makes it easy to meet other travelers.
The rooms and common areas are always clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the vibe is exactly what you want in a hostel: social but still relaxed enough to get a good night’s sleep.
Whether I’m visiting Montreal for a quick trip or a longer stay, Samesun is always my first choice. Highly recommended!
Good:
-Location was amazing, for old Quebec
-shower pressure was great
-views were amazing
Bad:
-They service huge groups (bands, hockey teams) and they ALLLLL check in at once. Multiple times we couldn’t get back to our room because the line for the elevator went all the way through the lobby.
-the floors were gross. Old an poorly installed laminate, we had over 1cm gaps between ends of boards and crud in between. It was winter and no floor mat in the room meant melting snow and gravel
-room attendants didn’t restock the coffee in the room, and even those packets only had one teeny packet of creamer.
-the coffee maker would only make one mug before shutting down for 15min. It would overheat?
-the hot tubs were the heat of a bath
Two of us thought the beds were decent, two of us didn’t. I left in pain.
Depends on what you need. Don’t overspend, it’s not worth it

Loved this hotel! It was right in Centerville and walking distance to several restaurants, cafes, and parking garages. The room was clean and immaculate and had a nice city view. Housekeeping cleaned out our room without having to request it. The staff were also friendly and helpful. Breakfast came with our room which consisted of fresh pastries. Fruits, cereal, yogurt, eggs and several beverage options (juices, coffee, and water). I will definitely stay here again!
After staying for several nights, I'm very familiar with the Hampton Inn's facilities. The breakfast is delicious; Canadian food is consistently better than American, and their bagels are really good.
Good hotel. The bed is super comfortable, and the welcome and service are great.
The hotel could use some updating, but it has all the comforts you need.
It's extremely well located between Gatineau and Ottawa.
There's indoor parking for $14.
Very good hotel.
The room feels retro (old) overall. There is a broken light. The room prompts that only one of the microwave and hair dryer can be used, otherwise it is easy to trip. Overall, it is quite comfortable. There is a microwave and refrigerator. The car is parked at the door. Quiet. No deposit is required, and check-out is also very fast. There are also food nearby, which is convenient.
The booked king suit suite, the room size is large, suitable for family travel.
Canada does not provide disposable items by default. It is best to bring your own toiletries, especially slippers. There are no disposable slippers here. If you go to the front desk to ask for it, provide recycled foot cover (avoid the floor cold in winter)
This is generally only available at 3 pm. It is best to have an ihg member. Otherwise, you can't check in before 3 o'clock and you need to pay 25 CAD separately. When the hotel is busy, the member's late check-out cannot be used. This should be noted.
It is recommended to book a room facing the west side, and the sunset is very beautiful in the evening. If you are traveling by car, it is recommended to go to the park by the river, 5 minutes drive, there is a large green area, you can see swarms of wild Canadian geese.
With a stay at Belmont Properties Short-Term Rentals in Gatineau (Aylmer), you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Canadian Museum of History and Marina Aylmer Park. This apartment is 8.5 mi (13.7 km) from Parliament Hill and 9.8 mi (15.7 km) from Byward Market Square.
Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.

Love the place. Room was beautiful and quiet and very affordable. Tim’s coffee was 5 minutes away and autoroute

LLorca_510The location is excellent. It’s like walking distance to everywhere in downtown. In my three days trip, we barely take any transport when we’re roaming around in downtown area. And the staffs are super friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back again next time!!
HhaydyweiThe hotel is right next to Chinatown, and the subway station is conveniently located across the street to the left of the hotel's main entrance. If you turn right from the main entrance, you'll find a Southeast Asian food street. It's a fantastic location, just a 7-8 minute walk to attractions like the Old Port, Notre-Dame Basilica, the underground city's fountains, and the Berlin Wall photo spot. What was most surprising was the hotel's Chinese-style decor, and even the food ads in the elevator were in Chinese, which felt very welcoming. We booked a twin room, and it was quite spacious with two comfortable queen-sized beds (1.5m). Some front desk staff speak Chinese, though not always available. Overall, the service was good. The only minor downsides were that the room didn't provide slippers or a kettle, and there was no complimentary bottled water.
GGuest UserThere is no breakfast, the service is average, and a deposit is required when checking in, and the deposit is returned when checking out, which is obviously troublesome and inconvenient for guests. Room inspection is required every time you check out.

FFudoumeimeiThe location is super good, just a few minutes' walk from the free cable car ride point, and close to the mountain villa commercial district. You can park your car temporarily on the roadside in front of the hotel, complete the check-in procedures and get a parking card, and then park your car in the hotel's indoor parking lot (an additional parking fee of 26.05 Canadian dollars will be charged).
The hotel breakfast variety is not rich, but this room price is very cost-effective for breakfast included.
The scenery of the room is very beautiful, with colorful autumn colors outside the window, and the cable car is slow, like a fairy tale world.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel location was convience to go everywhere. The staff are kindness and polite. All inside the hotel were clean but just waiting elevator a little bit a long.
GGuest UserMy experience was awful. The first night a false alarm went off in the entire hotel at 4:45am. The next day we came back to our room and the room service was not done. Lastly, since the hotel was going through renovations, our last night at the hotel was horrible since the day before the AC units on our floor were turned off cause of the same renovations previously stated. In summary, an awful experience especially for how expensive the hotel was. The only good thing was the location but will never stay at this Embassy Suites again
AAnonymous UserThe hotel is at a very convenient location. It’s not that new but very cozy and clean.
They have 24hrs coffee, tea, water, which is really great.
And the welcome gift (snacks) is really helpful if you arrives late but don’t want to eat outside or heavy.
LLuvPrinceEverything is surprisingly good. Got a port view room.
However, the parking is shared with public although it is in door. The parking garage is too narrow compared to Double Tree.
Would like to come here again but parking would be a concern. And the swimming pool is a bit closing too early.
GGuest UserAt the time of our visit, there were no frontdesk. We had to go to another motel to get the keys to the cabin. When ask questions, obviously they say they dont know anything. The guy sitting at the front desk seems to be uninterested to help. Once we got at our assigned cabin, i find the place to be very cute. Except, the front door was left open. Then we went inside, every single curtain missed pieces, privacy was so so. Then we realised that the back door (patio) cant be locked. So dont leave your belonging unsupervised. There were a lot...lot lots of bugs (spiders, mosquitos, other insects). Then, the tv does not work. We followed the instruction, but it showed on the tv that we have no access to this service. I guess they did not renew the subscription. Then the cherry on top, there is NO hot water. We took our shower in freezing water. Inside the cabine, there were some dishware, cooker, microwave, mini fridge, mini toaster, keurig coffee maker. I cant tell if it works because i didnt use any of it. The shower is very very small. If you are taller than 6ft your head will be over the shower, I am 5ft 100pounds and i barely had space to move in it. Oh well, the view on the Fleuve St-Laurent was nice.
