Stayed here before my flight out of KTM. Free airport pickup and drop-off is a nice perk.
The downside: I requested late checkout due to an evening flight, but it was refused and I had to pay half-day rate. That was frustrating.
Positives: Housekeeping staff were helpful (quick with fresh towels and trash), restaurant food was tasty, and the front desk gave a warm farewell. Good for a transit stay if you don't need flexible checkout.
The following are real pictures and videos taken by me when I checked into the hotel that day. I stayed in Room 103 that day. Hotel location: The transportation in Kathmandu is not very convenient. Hotel facilities: Take a look at the pictures for yourself, they were taken on the day of check-in. See pictures of bedding and linens. Hotel decoration: see pictures for yourself. Bathroom: There is no dry and wet separation. Breakfast: Look at the pictures for yourself, it’s okay, freshly made. Hotel service staff: I personally feel that they are very service-minded and quite careless during their stay. The hotel pictures match the actual room pictures.
Good obliging stsff - classic an quaint sizeable room - I would say that some guests were noisy to begging with at 1 am in the hallways - should have gone out to a pub the ****** - staff couod have gotten security to deal with them more strongly as it happened twice in the same night. Aside from this the stsff were good

This hotel offers excellent service from the moment you walk in; both the front desk staff and the manager were incredibly polite. The hotel is very clean and well-equipped, even having an elevator. The room was spotless and tidy, and they even provided hand soap. The hotel's location is right in the city center, close to restaurants and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Plus, there's a rooftop where you can enjoy city views of Kathmandu. I would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit to Kathmandu.
Location is not very far from the international Airport though the entrance point was bit constricted but when you reach the property, its heaven altogether.
Loved the ambience, the staff were so helpful, the rooms were neat and clean and the food was awesome ( for which I have to go to Kathmandu again).
Overall a great and unforgettable stay with my friends.

There were a lot of restaurants and souvenir shops around, and there was nothing to worry about. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, and the free water server and coffee service were also very good.
I was a little worried about the smell of the water and the towels were not rented, but overall it is a very good hostel!
I had a great stay at this hotel! The staff were incredibly helpful and made sure I had everything I needed during my visit. The location is perfect, with easy access to local attractions and transportation. Plus, the price is very fair for the quality of service and convenience offered. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and affordable stay in a great location.

This was the best hostel I've stayed in Nepal. The bunk beds offer great privacy with their partitions, and getting to the upper bunk is easy with steps instead of a ladder, making it a comfortable choice. Each bed also has a locker, so you don't have to worry about your valuables. The room is air-conditioned, and housekeeping cleans very frequently. Rahul at the front desk is super friendly; he'd always greet me and ask how I was doing every time we met.
Excellent new hotel. The staff were super friendly and even helped us carry our backpacks up the stairs. They also printed our visas for free, which was a huge help. Our room was clean and cozy, with nice bedding and a soft bed. For the price, this is the best hotel we've stayed at in Kathmandu. I'll definitely be staying here again next time.

Very Good
GGuest UserThe room made a decent first impression and did the bare minimum. But, it quickly became clear that it’s best suited for a very short stay. The bed was comfortable enough. Overall, the room is fine if you’re just passing through, but anything longer starts to feel like stretching it.
Staff presence around the hotel was limited. They clearly run on a lean operation, which can go either way. The guard in front of the elevator stood out in the best possible way and added a genuinely warm, human touch, which helped balance things out.
At check-in, I was given two complimentary cocktail coupons for the upstairs bar, which immediately lifted my spirits. This was a place I had enjoyed many times before and often recommended to friends and family. I had good memories of the atmosphere, the food, and the general vibe, so I went in with high hopes. In the past I had written raving 5-star reviews of their restaurant food and amazing service!
Unfortunately, the experience that followed didn’t live up to those expectations. What should have been a simple, enjoyable night out unraveled into confusion and unwelcoming interactions. Small moments piled up, the mood shifted, and it became clear that the experience had gone off the rails. Rather than force it, my group and I decided to take our time and money elsewhere. Sometimes you read the room and move on.
I returned to the hotel later that night and stayed over. Took a hot shower in the morning, loved the smell of their body wash, btw!
Another brief interaction during checkout reinforced the same theme: rigid, abrupt, and lacking the kind of hospitality that makes guests feel welcome.
All in all, it’s disappointing to see a place I once enjoyed and freely recommended lose its consistency and warmth. I’m no longer comfortable recommending it, and I’m not sure I would choose to return.
As for the unused cocktail coupon, I still have it. Any takers?
GGuest UserI stayed for 2 nights, it didn't feel safe for me as a solo woman traveller. One the first night around 11pm there were 3-4 men shouting and laughing and knocked my door. I was scared and called the reception. The phone wire was not connected to the phone, i have to hold it tight to the phone while i was speaking. It was a terrifying experience. When in emergency even the phone wasn't working! the receptionist took 30 min to for the men to calm down. The next day morning the receptionist told me they men moved out. But i saw them in the evening in the hotel. Didn't feel safe. Again, the men, shouting and aloud. Still i couldn't sleep there, awake whole two nights i stayed there, didn't feel safe. The place was clean. Location was good.
KKyle CAIQYI highly recommend this hotel. Every employee is super good. When you go to a strange country for the first time and live here, you feel as safe as a harbor. The manager is very, very good. Good hygiene. The breakfast in the morning is delicious. The location is very good, near the Tamil district, and the surroundings are very quiet.
MMH RONYThey are very welcoming, and the reception staff was awesome. They accept international visa card. Every floor have a nice balcony for gossiping, eating coffee and smoking. With this budget, best hotel.
My room was 404.
Problems:
1. The telephone was not dead.
2. Curtains are very thin so in the morning you can't sleep in the sunlight.
3. The doors and windows are very old, that's why if someone is talking outside of the room you will hear everything and maybe they also hear you.
4. They just provide tissue and soap, they didn’t provide toothbrush, toothpaste, or shampoo. So if you booked this hotel keep this with you.
5. The hotel doesn't have an elevator, so if you don't like the stairs, is it not for you and you can talk to the hotel before booking for the 2nd floors room.
PPascalHad a terrible experience at this hotel - booked it as a first stop in Kathmandu on arrival in Nepal, place to put my luggage while trekking and a last night before flying out of the country.
There is no provision for bag check - no tag given or the like. Asked if could leave / check my bag was told yes and to leave infront of front desk. Two weeks later when I returned to the hotel bag was still in the lobby infront of front desk. Things were missing of course - none of great enough value to argue, but the fact they couldn’t even be bothered to move the bag a few feet to a closet / holding space or the like is indicative of the way this place rolls.
Tried to book a shuttle for early morning to airport through hotel, listed as included service. Despite confirming and reconfirming, they arranged nothing. Instead at 5:15 AM it became a game of let’s make a deal and see how much we can charge while providing no evidence there was even a driver. In the end I gave up and carted my luggage to the street to get a taxi.
Nepal is a wonderful country - this hotel was a consistent bad experience. Rooms themselves are meh - didn’t try the free breakfast, on site restaurant was pretty good, atmosphere/ food. This isn’t a cheap hotel by local standards - for the price point there are much / many options in the area.
GGuest UserThis is the second time I'm leaving a review for Kumari Boutique Hotel. I stayed here for a few months and it really felt like home. The rooms are super clean and equipped with everything you need. The area is great, in the heart of Thamel yet quiet and peaceful. Many cafes, restaurants and shops nearby. The staff are super friendly, professional, and accommodating. A huge thank you to the Kumari team for making my stay pleasant and comfortable. You guys are wonderful :). I will definitely come back when I visit Kathmandu again. I highly recommend it.
CChristinalvxingdarenBecause I didn't catch the plane, I found a small hotel temporarily in the early morning.
facility:
Although the hotel is small, the hardware facilities are relatively good in Nepal, which is good.
There is air conditioning, hot water and card swipe door locks, which are advanced.
But there is no hair dryer either…
health:
I still saw the hair...
environment:
Room comfortable
Serve:
The breakfast provided is relatively simple (Picture 6 is the breakfast menu)
The service attitude of the staff at night is good, but the service attitude during the day is average.
In the evening, my friend in Kathmandu sent me to the hotel to pick up my luggage and take me to the airport. The hotel staff was even more hospitable.
TTaracandra YoginBaudha Apart Hotel
The Air is much cleaner at these heights. A lovely view to be seen from the roof top upon the city down below. There is a room up there, for yoga, for exercise, or meditation. An elevator takes you there, but you can climb the stairs, if you wish, especially to prepare for a mountain trek – there is an ample storage room in that regard. Boudha Apart is owned by a Sherpa family, originally from Lukla, so there are many good contacts with the high mountain community.
The hotel is fairly new, and that means nothing is broken. That is to say also, that it is well maintained, that the guests are not a rowdy sort, and they are mindful of each other's tranquility. The rooms are well thought out, and many have a sun facing balcony. Both sink and shower have abundant hot water, adjustable as you like. On the ground floor is a large restaurant, with a diverse menu of local cuisine, and western comfort foods. The basement is a parking garage for cars and bikes. The staff is of good cheer, and supportive of your adventures and plans. They, most conveniently, pick up and deliver to the airport. There is also a car and driver for various tours, as you will.
And finally to say, the price to value is most fair, as one compares to other hotels in the region.
IilpMadhuban Hotel is abaolutely the best hotel to stay in Kathmandu. I will tell you why.
The hotel is on point in all aspects.
Value for money - you get what you pay. The hotel offers free breakfast and very affordable in-house food and snacks. The pick-up and drop-off from the airport was smooth, hassle-free and absolutely enjoyable. I was picked up by the son of the hotel owner and it was an absolutely enjoyable time.
Location - Madhuban Hotel is strategically located - far from the noisy cith but near the places of interests. It is near the party area (thamel area) with lots of restaurants and souvenir shop. It is one ride away from major attractions.
Tours and adventures - the hotel have their own provider - adventureboundnepal. Theu arrange and match prices in the market. They were even able to pull up a last minute booking for me with the everest flight.
Hospitality - owners, managers and staff are all smiling, cheerful and happy. You feel at home.
Rooms - spacious and very neat. Heaters is working, fast internet and plus points if you have a terrace (which i did). The rooftop gives an amazing view of the neighborhood.
Restaurants and shops - plenty around the area. You will never go wrong!
Will stay again in Madhuban Hotel?? DEFINITELY!
