One El Nido Suite

A real mixed bag here, the location is good and the rooms are large, clean, beds comfortable and the ac works well. The staff are friendly. Those are the positives. The food, breakfast in particular is atrocious for a hotel in this price range the restaurant staff idle about playing on their phones. The rooms were cleaned very late in the day on several occasions. The internet is weak from the rooms.Whilst the front desk staff are friendly they are pretty clueless and on wanting to escalate certain issues I am told that the management are based in Puerto Princessa. With good management and a complete overhaul of the menu and some internet boosters this could be a great hotel.
Citystate Asturias Hotel Palawan

This place is obviously still struggling from the effects of the Covid lockdowns. The staff is the best part of this place. The air conditioner is undersized & has a daylight gap all around it. The room refrigerator is worthless because its electric circuit shuts down when you leave the room. Who wants to come back from a trip & grab a warm drink from the ref? Breakfast buffet is pretty slim. They post signage asking you to conserve water, but they don't even include water saving faucets or shower heads. And then there were the bugs. If I had known that they are offering 'Hourly Rates' I would have avoided this place.
Holiday Suites Palawan

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Holiday Suites Palawan, and despite a few minor inconveniences, I am delighted to give it a well-deserved 5-star rating. Let's start with the positives. The price-point of this hotel is truly commendable, offering exceptional value for money. I found myself in need of a last-minute stay due to a late arrival at the airport, and Holiday Suites Palawan proved to be the perfect solution. The room I secured for a small price exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort and relaxation. One notable highlight is the hotel's strategic location just outside Robinsons Place Palawan. This convenience allowed me to easily access shopping and dining options without hassle. The proximity to the airport further adds to the hotel's appeal, making it a practical choice for travelers with late arrivals or early departures. Now, addressing the minor drawbacks. I did notice the absence of a spoon in the room, despite the presence of cutlery and complementary coffee. Additionally, the fridge in the room had a slight issue with closing properly. While these details are worth mentioning, they did not significantly detract from the overall positive experience I had at Holiday Suites Palawan. In conclusion, Holiday Suites Palawan offers a fantastic balance of affordability, comfort, and convenience. Despite the minor room quirks, the value for money and the hotel's strategic location easily warrant a 5-star rating. I would recommend it to fellow travelers looking for a budget-friendly yet comfortable stay in Palawan.
Acacia Tree Garden Hotel
3.8/534 Reviews
A group of us stayed here the night of arriving in PP before embarking our scuba liveaboard and chose the hotel as it was where the liveaboard company did a town pick up from. Simple accommodation, but clean and functioning. Very spacious rooms - we had 4 girls sharing one room with two double beds. The bathroom/shower was a little tired but I only had one quick shower. A pretty garden surrounding a pool - I didn't end up swimming as it was quite a hot, muggy, grey day and the pool was more warm than refreshing in that moment, but I also only spent about 18 hours total at the hotel so if I was there longer I would definitely have had some pooltime. It was cute watching some local kids have a mermaiding lesson. The restaurant is not set up for large orders so bear that in mind timing wise - it is a one chef kitchen. If you are landing at 7pm or later make sure you request the chef stay if you want dinner on site as they will otherwise leave at 9pm. The chicken & mushroom pasta was good. Breakfast was also good - fruit, pancakes and egg, but only instant coffee. I particularly liked the access to free drinking water refill - there is a cooler in the dining area. The staff were helpful - with the chef staying late for us, helping us call to book some massages down the road at Nuat Thai Spa, helping me get a bowl of rice for lunch when I tried to order when the kitchen was backed up we made a plan B. Location is a bit further down in the quiet end of Manalo St. It isn't far to walk up to the part with restaurants, coffee shops and the spa, but I probably wouldn't have done that walk alone as a female in the dark so I would stay here with a group more than solo. I'm sure it is very safe, but as a general rule of thumb I don't walk alone in the dark down quiet streets. After the liveaboard I stayed in the 'busier' part of Manalo St. Would I stay here again - well if in PP I would probably go to my second hotel as a repeat customer as it was just nicer all around (but also cost double the price). However, Acacia is perfectly adequate for the price point if you are looking for accommodation close to the airport or the boat pier in southern PP at a very reasonable price and it is true to the pictures.
Dolarog Beach Resort
3.7/520 Reviews
Dolarog, a true pet-friendly resort! The resort in itself is superb! It’s like a hidden gem of El Nido and the greatest thing about it is it’s truly a pet-friendly haven! What I like about it is that it’s still in the main island but gives off that exclusive feels. We stayed for 8 days in total at the beachfront villa called Lagen which is a few meters from the beach overlooking their jetti way and that awe-inspiring giant limestone directly in front of our villa. Getting to the resort is other via speedboat or their private access road from Vanilla Beach using a golf car. You know that you’ll have an excellent stay when the owner, Mr. Edu picks you up(or sometimes the son) from Vanilla beach for a more personal touch. How hospitable right? He also has a selection of Italian wines from his cellar as he is Italian, I had Chianti btw over dinner with the beach, stars and the moon as our backdrop. Truly magical! The rooms are always kept clean by the staff who are also very friendly. The main Receptionist, Tata is attentive and very pleasant not to mention very informative. I would take her as my head of staff if only I could! She knows her products and knows when to recommend it, the type of staff who is not in your face all the time to promote an offer. I must say she is one of the nicest resort staff I ever come across with. Food is relatively good. Home cooked and unpretentious. As with any advice when you go to a limited supply area such as El Nido, don’t get your expectations too high on having a western dish so much because obviously, you will have some issues so I only ordered I know locally sourced here like seafood or their filipino dishes like the menudo and chicken curry which are my faves! Filipino breakfast is good. You might wanna carry spare powerbanks as the resort rely on their own generator for electric supply. From 6am-9am and 12noon-6pm there is no electric power. Also, TV is not available (not sure abt other rooms though) but who needs a TV anyway? It’s not like you chose to go to El Nido and sit all day on Netflix and stay indoors duh! I rented a motorbike for 500/day basis and this really helped me in exploring or going out of the resort but the resort offers complimentary shuttle via their golf car to Vanilla beach for free but I wanted to leave and come back on my own time. This is also a 20 minutes walk to Maremegmeg beach by beachside access. Tricycle ride cost between 150 going to town from Vanilla beach btw. Overall our experience is a great 4.5/5 with .5 leaving for improvement on the land access before the Dolarog gate. Also, I’m pretty confident even without any advertisement or active social media promotion, the resort will do just good but let me tell when I posted 1 picture of Dolarog on my socmed, people flocked my DM to ask if I was in another country. This is how beautiful the resort is but I hope that with how Millennials pick up on their next destination is mostly through social media, the resort pu

I have been to Puerto Galera before and accommodation was a real struggle. The quality around White Beach was really poor and they were old and tired. So coming this time I wanted to find something better. Looking at these pics this hotel looked amazing. The hotel is situated around 10 mins drive from White Beach. That is considered close. And there are plenty of Tricycles to take you back to the hotel at any time. I thought this location was great. The view from the hotel was amazing and featured two swimming pools one being a Infinity pool. The infinity pool was quite deep. The rooms were big and comfortable with good air con. There is little to fault the hotel on. I had a room next to the pool and the only issue was there was a light you couldn't turn off and that light attracted half of the islands bugs at night so I couldn't leave my door open. Secondly the hotel is built on the steepest hill you have ever seen. I am not exaggerating when I say that. It is so steep that riding a motorbike it couldn't even make it up the hill lol. The staff will help you with the bags and its prob only a 5 min walk but in the heat it takes a lot out of you. If you are not fit or you were of the older generation I think you would struggle. I rented a motorbike which i would suggest if staying here so its easy to travel about. I will definitely stay here again next time I come to PG.

We arrived and they announced us they were overbooked, so they proposed us to transfer to their hotel in front for one night, saying it was « already an upgrade » and then retransfer to this hotel. Meaning unpacking, packing again, checking in And out twice Which is inconvenient as I am pregnant, after arguing a bit we managed to get breakfast one day only tho for compensation. Arrived at the breakfast at 9:45, it was already quite empty, we had to ask for refilling. It is clearly not worthy 355php per person, I wouldn’t recommend to get the breakfast here, one of the worst breakfast buffet we had. Dinner was also bad, cold few fries for 180php, as an example. Pricey, not yummy I would advice to take a tricycle and go downtown - your bill will be probably same for better quality food. When transferred to the final room, there was dust on the floor. Very poor internet connexion and Globe network which unable to use datas. AC was very noisy in both rooms. On a positivé note, Room is tho decent and pool is nice, I would come back for the room. We had to go to ER and missed our shuttle to the airport, they kindly took us there by car, which was a great thing and saved us in a way !
