City of Jajce. A Winter Fairy Tale.

“Be sure to visit the city of Jajce from Sarajevo.”@Stasja_Travel_Vibes · 10 months ago
Bosnia totally surprised me — think epic waterfalls, mouthwatering eats, and jaw-dropping natural scenes around every corner 😍🌄 For eight days we made Tarcin Resort our base, exploring everything from quaint Mostar (hello, slate rooftops and mountain views!) to historic Sarajevo. But today, let's dive into Jajce, the hidden gem of Bosnia’s heartland.

Top Spot You Can’t Miss:
Jajce Waterfall Viewpoint
📍 87P9+WWV, Drugog zasjedanja AVNOJ-a, Jajce 70101, Bosnia & Herzegovina
This place is like Europe’s secret cascade—right in the middle of town! There’s a marked path with local stalls selling fresh pastries and coffee, so definitely grab a snack before you wander in. The waterfall’s crazy powerful after spring rains, and the viewing platform puts you practically above the tumbling river. Go early morning for calm vibes or late afternoon for golden sunlight on the spray.

Pro travel tip: Bosnia is super friendly for road trips! Renting a car is best for day trips to places like Mostar or Jahorina (ski slopes!)—roads are scenic and safe, with plenty of signs in English. Even remote towns like Jajce have little roadside cafés serving the best cevapcici (grilled sausages) and Turkish-style coffee.

Getting Around: Use trip.com to sort your ride or local tours, and don’t be shy about asking locals for route tips.
Weather: Pack layers—mornings are cool, afternoons get sunny, especially near the falls.
Money: Most spots take card, but cash (Bosnian marks) is handy for local stalls.
