9 Must-Visit Attractions in Hebi, Henan - How Many Have You Been To?

9 Must-Visit Attractions in Hebi, Henan - How Many Have You Been To?

“Hebi City is located in northern Henan Province and is a city rich in natural and cultural landscapes.”@Atlas+Hawthorne · 1 year ago
Alright lads, just wanted to share a couple of spots from my recent trip. Flying out from Cork already cost me a pretty penny, so I was determined to keep the daily budget tight once I got to China. No point blowing all my savings when I need to keep some cash aside for my gacha games and anime figures, right? 😂

Anyway, I found two absolute gems that were dirt cheap and brilliant to walk around:

¡ *1. Mangshi (Yunnan)**
Honestly, this place was grand. It’s right near the border, so it feels like a mini Southeast Asia but without the massive tourist crowds. I rented a little electric scooter for next to nothing and just zipped around the town. The giant golden pagodas at sunset were gorgeous – honestly felt like stepping straight into some fantasy anime map.
The food was the best part. Super cheap and tasty. I lived on these local rice noodles and this sweet coconut drink called Paoluda. If you want warm weather and tropical vibes on a shoestring budget, this is it.

¡ *2. Jingzhou (Hubei)**
If you’re into history or ever played games like Dynasty Warriors, you’ll love this. It's a proper old fortress city with these massive ancient walls you can walk along. Most of the historical spots were either completely free or cost practically nothing to get in.
It’s a very relaxed, local place. Not touristy at all. I spent my afternoons wandering the old streets and trying different street foods. Super cheap, very filling, and the people were lovely.

Both places are highly recommended if you want a proper holiday without returning home absolutely broke. Spot on!
