Feb 26 to Feb 27Signalling system fault reduces services between Bournemouth and WeymouthPeriod:Thursday, February 26, 2026 to Friday, February 27, 2026Operators:South Western RailwayRelated Information:A signalling problem between Moreton (Dorset) and Dorchester South means that trains must run at a reduced speed on all lines. To avoid congestion, some services between London Waterloo and Weymouth will run between London Waterloo and Bournemouth only. Disruption is expected until the end of the day on Friday 27 February. Customer advice: Engineers are on site and are working towards rectifying the fault. They will be carrying out works each night (until Saturday morning) once service has finished for the day to minimise the impact to customers. Their current estimation is that this issue will be resolved by the end of service on Friday 27 February. An hourly service will run between Poole and Weymouth in both directions. This means that one service per hour running between London Waterloo and Weymouth in both directions will instead start / terminate at Bournemouth. Rail replacement transport: Replacement road transport is in place shuttling between Weymouth and Poole. This is being directed by station staff and will not run to a timetable. Ticket acceptance: To further assist you with your journey, your ticket can be used at no extra cost, on the following services: Great Western Railway services between Weymouth and Westbury / Salisbury (for onward South Western Railway services towards London Waterloo). Morebus route: M1 between Poole, Parkstone and Bournemouth. M2 between Poole, Parkstone, Branksome and Pokesdown. U2 between Poole, Parkstone and Branksome. 8 / 9 between Poole and Hamworthy. 15 between Poole and Parkstone. 16 between Poole, Parkstone, Branksome and Bournemouth. 17 between Poole, Parkstone and Bournemouth. 18 between Parkstone, Branksome and Bournemouth. 20 between Poole, Parkstone, Branksome and Bournemouth. 40 between Wareham and Poole. 60 between Hamworthy and Poole. 70 between Hamworthy, Poole, Bournemouth, Pokesdown and Christchurch. Additional information: Engineers are aware and are investigating the fault. There is currently no expected time for the fault to be fixed. If you need any help with your journey, please speak to a member of staff or use a station help point. If you would prefer to use local buses to continue your journey please check Traveline. South Western Railway tickets are not valid on local buses unless stated above.
Feb 26 to Feb 26Points failure impacts services in the Gatwick Airport areaPeriod:Thursday, February 26, 2026 to Thursday, February 26, 2026Operators:Gatwick Express,Great Western Railway,Southern,ThameslinkRelated Information:A points failure at Gatwick Airport means that some northbound lines are blocked. As a result, trains running to / from and through this station may be delayed by up to 15 minutes or revised. Disruption is expected until 10:00. Gatwick Express / Southern / Thameslink customer advice: Southern and Thameslink services will be delayed when travelling through Gatwick Airport, especially northbound, towards London. For these services, you can continue to travel on your normal route, but it may take up to 15 minutes longer than usual to reach your destination. Gatwick Express services are likely to be cancelled at short notice until the fault is fixed. If you were planning to travel between Brighton and London, you may use alternative Thameslink services at no extra cost, changing at Gatwick Airport or East Croydon for London Victoria. If you were planning to travel between Brighton and either Haywards Heath or Gatwick Airport, you may use alternative Thameslink services at no extra cost. If you were planning to travel between Haywards Heath or Gatwick Airport and London Victoria, you may use Southern services at no extra cost. This also means your journey could take around 15 minutes longer than usual. Also, some trains may stop at different platforms compared to those usually served at Gatwick Airport, so please check station information boards and listen to announcements, to ensure you're on the correct platform for your intended service. Planning your journey: Live departure boards can be viewed, as well as a live map of the network. You can view an alternative route guide. You can also use the Gatwick Express, Southern or Thameslink apps to find up-to-date information. Great Western Railway customer advice: All Great Western Railway services from Reading to Gatwick Airport will be terminating at Redhill. Therefore, all Gatwick Airport to Reading services will be starting from Redhill. To help you complete your journey, your Great Western Railway ticket can be used on Southern and Thameslink services between Redhill and Gatwick Airport. Please change at Redhill for onward services to Gatwick Airport. Please note that that delays of up to 15 minutes between Redhill and Gatwick Airport are expected so please allow extra time to complete your journey. Additional information: Network Rail’s teams are on their way to investigate.
