Since starting my new job, I’ve been trying to make the most of my holidays, and this little day trip from Valencia was absolutely perfect. I took a 1.5-hour bus ride to Peñíscola, a beautiful coastal town that looks like something out of a movie.

The old town is so lovely, with narrow stone alleys, white-washed walls, and blue windows. I spent a while just wandering around and found the famous Shell House, which is covered in real seashells—so cute! I also paid about 5€ to go inside the Castillo del Papa Luna. The view from the top was breathtaking, looking out over the endless blue Mediterranean sea. It was a bit windy, but sitting there watching the waves was so peaceful.

Of course, I did my food research before coming! For lunch, I found a spot near the coast to try Fideuà, a local specialty. It’s very similar to paella but made with short thin noodles instead of rice. The noodles absorbed all the rich seafood broth, and the seafood on top was so fresh. Paired with a cold glass of Sangria by the beach, it was honestly the highlight of my day.

If you're ever in Valencia, I highly recommend coming here for a day. It’s quiet, beautiful, and the food is amazing. 🍤✨
